Re: A32X Flaps Speed
Ahh... Thanks much. I hadn't been to this board in (I think) over a year, so when I got the email notification of a reply, I got curious.

Re: A32X Flaps Speed
My Spam routine link was in response to a robo-user that posted 80 posts in an hour that were three screens long and contained over 100 links to things like fake Rolex watches and "male-oriented" pharmaceuticals. It looks like the mods were kind enough to get rid of them.

Re: A32X Flaps Speed
Look for the "extending-time=" in the [flaps.x] sections. If there's more than one section, you may need to adjust all of them. As always, make a backup of the current aircraft.cfg before you start.

SimV is notorious for having packages that have been stepped on several times. Grab an "official" download and then copy in the textures from the package you already have.

Re: FSX or FS2004? Which is better??
75% of the people I know who have Flight Simulator X can afford £900 for a PC every 2/3 years which is all you need if you want to see the most major improvement to fsx we have ever seen. With the introduction to these sandybridge Intel processors we can finally run with our sliders up to ateast 'V...

Re: FSX or FS2004? Which is better??
I have a pretty decent computer... Intel i7 950 3.06 12GB Ram Radeon 6870 Crossfire But still doesn't handle FSX the way I wanted to. I love FS2004! It is stable, FPS friendly, and the graphics are not that bad! Too bad developers do not think so and switch their development plans to FSX only becau...

That's funny! In FSX, summertime in North Carolina looks more like the Gobi Desert! If I flew "X" I'd be spending my time trying to get it to look more like FS9.ChainChomp2 wrote:...and there are many ways to upgrade the visual appearance in FS9 to get close to FSX.

Re: what will be a freeware gem
Size onscreen makes no difference. Bill Ortis himself has already released a demonstrator using the new technique applied to GMax. It's a Boeing Blended Wing Body (BWB). The external model is nice if not remarkable, but the VC is extremely detailed. There's not much clickable or animated, but if you...

Re: Which Switch
Here's what I've done: First, get this package - http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=cptts1.2.zip Instead of just aliasing the panel ot the default 747, put a copy of that panel folder into the A380 main folder. Drop the cpt.toggles.777.CAB into that panel folder, or into the main Gauges ...

Which Switch
If I use the "L" key to turn on all the lights on the A380, then use the switches in the default 747 panel's overhead to turn the lights off, there's one light left on each wingtip. It's the white one in the center of the widget/winglet as shown in the image below. Can anyone tell me which...

I think I remember reading about a new working weather radar gauge, but I can't remember where. Might have been payware too. I'll have a look around and see what I can see...

I was once a moderator there and saw some of the in-fighting for myself. It was a big part of why I resigned that post. It's sad to see any group fold. It wasn't all that long ago that the FS community as a whole thought they'd never see a high quality A380! I just hope to see the same quality stuff...

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Does the Airbus A380 vc have auto brakes since Tom Ruth's 340 vc and A321 vc doesnt have WORKING Autobrakes! Hope to see the vc soon! The reason for no autobrakes may be due to the fact that FS9 has "issues" with planes that have more than the normal three contact points. That's why the-g...

Re: A380 FSNav Data
BTW, the fuel numbers are a VERY generalised average based on both the panel EICAS and the RKG_fuelstat.gau that I installed as a popup window to confirm the EICAS #'s. Of course, I know that weather and varying weights will have an affect on fuel consumption.

Thanks!!! I'll update the touchdown speed to 140. It probably won't make a whole lot of difference in the way the flightplan gets calculated, but every little bit helps!

A380 FSNav Data
I like to use FSNav for flight planning, so I loaded up the new A380 and did a little number gathering. I tried to generalize as much as I could to get what might be an overall "average." These numbers from my aircraft.ini are what I came up with. The climb rate is reduced due to step clim...
