Hi Francois,
I understand fully. Just responding to your request for input. I have been on vacation the past few weeks also. Have a great one.
Fred.
P.S. Remember, if you have time and are in the area, give me a call.

Re: SID/STAR/APPROACH free Database Project
Hi Francois, Summer activities have kept me away from this project but have been following progress. Thank You for this great product. I have noticed the disconnect between the STARs and approach here in the US also. My initial inclination would be to provide a vector (or vectors) to intercept the a...

Took off from KSLC heading southwest using my departure SID and approached using your GRNPA1 STAR to 19R at K...

Re: SID/STAR/APPROACH free Database Project
Hi Airbus Fan, You will not see the files in the FMS because they add additional waypoints into the FSX database for the FMS to use. The way to tell if the waypoints are there is to bring up the KMORE SID you loaded for KSEA before and compare it with the picture you provide earlier in this thread. ...

Hi Airbus Fan, Once you have copied the files into the Addon Scenery\Scenery folder, you need to start FSX. If everthing is right, you will get a message as FSX starts saying it is re-building the database. If you don't get that message, you will want to go to the settings tab after FSX starts, go t...

Hi Francois, I did check the EXCEL database of waypoints you sent me and the ones above were both there. This is strange. Re: SID/STAR/APPROACH free Database Project
Hi Francois, Just a quick question. I am running into airports that have a single SID that has just a heading and no intersection or VOR etc. as waypoints and no assigned altitudes. Spokane (KGEG) is an example. Since your database requires a waypoint to identify a SID, I have no way to add them in ...

Hi Francois,
Put together the index file for KSEA but am having trouble deciphering the data file content. Looks like I'll need the instructions to complete it. So, whenever the time is right. I know you have a lot on your plate. Meanwhile, I'll put together more airport index files.

Hi Francois, I'll volunteer to do some of the SIDs and STARs. Re: I am willing to pay for the FSX version of the A320 v2.1
Hi, Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe we already have the Default A321 VC and all it's modifications available. What we don't have is the A320 v2.1 exterior model compiled using the FSX compiler so we can merge the VC panel with it. Merging is something that can't be done with the FS9 exterior m...

Re: Thomas Ruth Panel with PA trouble
Hi, I too have the same effect. A similar question was asked a week or so back but let me try to answer here. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. It's not really a problem but rather a result of the location of the cockpit being defined in the interior model. Tom's interior model is built for the A...
Re: A380 FSX!
Many of us are using Thomas Ruth's A340 panel until a native FSX A380 panel comes along. Add a pop-up of Garrett Smith's FMC and you have quite a competent setup.
I have tried the FS9 panel on the A380 in FSX and find it has a noticeable FPS hit on my now 6 year old core 2 duo system. JMHO

Re: Toms 727

Re: Toms 727
Hi Brett, I checked both my 727-100 and -200 and find reflections for both work as Tom shows. I changed the name on the reflection.dds file in the texture.lh directory, switched to that texture in FSX, and my reflections disappeared when the new 727 texture was loaded so that is the correct file. Thanks Project Airbus and thanks Tom Ruth for the great FSX flying model. I have imported Tom's A340 VC panel into the A380 and a good starting point for the Aircraft.cfg eyepoint is 72.0, -1.85, 3.8. That will get you close to the captains position. Actually I said it was basically the default GPS with vertical elements added. If that can be construed as simple I was mis-understood.
I have also looked at Garrett's XML code and am impressed. My only point was that for the most part, FMCs that come with payware aircraft go farther.

Thanks Alexis for the quick reply. As suspected, you are way beyond where I am in your thinking about the functionality of the FMC. I am using the FSX default A321 VC panel that Tom Ruth provided with the Honeywell FMC by Garrett Smith. I would prefer the FMC was integratable into the VC cockpit rather than a pop-up but you can't have everything with freeware. As is, the combination does work well for me.

Great news and take whatever time you need to complete this A380. An idea on the VC when you get down the road that far.
