Re: a question about 330 landing gear free fall system
How much voltage and miliampere running through that cable? Since i'm not an Airbus engineer, my wild guess is that the system is using relay instead of direct electrical flow, so some small wire (AWG18 or 14) might be enough. Again, since my guess is that you building a home cockpit, it all depends...

Re: Microsoft Flight...Have you heard?
Honestly, i'll better wait for CES before seriously looking at it, because for now, most of the details are still blurred, especially if you can't register XBOX Live ID, thanks to the fact that we don't know WHEN INDONESIA will be allowed to register (for g******! Didn't Microsoft even know that Ind...

Re: New Computer
External 1TB Drive? Hmmm... AFAIK, from what i've learned at the university, its better to use SATA/SCSI-internal HDD instead of external. SATA cables are more durable and transfers at better speed. Internal HDD is also cheaper than external, so you might get 1.5 or even 2TB internal HDD instead for...

Re: thomas ruth's model design
Most of the modelers of FS (and i believe the PAirbus as well) use GMAX as it is free. However, It depends on the sim's compatibility, as FS supplies the SDK and the Addons for the GMAX. Don't know about the supported 3D Modeller on the X-Plane, though.

Re: AF447 FDR recovered
From my non-tech, ordinary people's view, looks like it's recoverable, unless that there's a leak in the body. A330 CSMU is using a solid state, not a magnetic tape, so as long as no water seepage (and if there is, no corrosion formed), you can recover the data. (Magnetic tape is more prone to damag...

Re: A318 Has been given new Engines
PW & A320 family operators are surely going to love Airbus if the V2500 was hanged on those A318, but the story told you something more. V2500 is too heavy for that little minibus. If V2500 was hanged there, the A318 won't become the Regional Jet like what Airbus wanted, due to extra weight (how...

Re: A318 Has been given new Engines
IIRC, PW6000 is having lots of difference to its V2500 counterpart. Even if they are build on the hands of PW (IAE is owned by PW @ +/- 35% stakes), PW6000 is lighter than IAE V2500. And, maybe, the High pressure turbine is different, since V2500 is PW tech, and PW6000 is MTU Aero's tech.

It's not really new, actually. In fact, PW6000 is the launch engine for the A318. Unfortunately, PW6000 wasn't working as it was promised for, being 6% fuel-thirstier than it was planned for (As written on Airliners World Indonesia, 6th Edition July 2010). So, the first 3 customers (Frontier, Air Fr...

1. Any 797 that I've used has been a joke of an airplane. The models are very simplistic, unrealistic, and have a very low polygon count.
