Re: Project FMC simplified for Project Airbus
Strange, because I found the A32x_Sounds.ini file in my "PA A32x_Common" folder. I have that too but it was the xml sounds gauge that had no ini. I am using P3Dv4 and you have to copy A32x_XML_Sounds.gau and A32x_XML_Config.gau. The config gauge overwrites the 32 bit version but the xml s...

Re: Project FMC simplified for Project Airbus
I did another test but I added elevator trim =2.0. I did this because it's quite easy to get the aircraft in an out of trim state, especially coming off AP. This seems to make the aircraft fly more like the payware versions. Leaving the terrain on gives a weird flashing every 3-5 seconds, it flashes...

Re: Project FMC simplified for Project Airbus
I think the v speeds was related to not having a plan loaded. I had the flaps set though but I don't think it I also thing the VAPP and VREF is due to something not being done unless an approach is set in the FMC which I cannot do at nearly all airports. Maybe have the radar alt at 2500 set the vapp...

I just tried a test flight. No problems with gauges or anything else on P3Dv4. I managed to set up up ok although for some reason the V speeds wouldn't insert but after a while they did. Take off and climb was fine, as was the descent which started better than it ever used too. Now we get to the bad...

I don't use the SIDS and STARS at all, my ATC provides that, I was trying to find another way to trigger it, radar altitude, gear down or flaps full instead of the approach phase being selected. It's mandatory for autoland IRL for the reasons you state. I don't think the sim distinguishes between different Cats, it seems to autoland on all of them. It should not autoland on CAT I IIRC.

I get full flare with just AP1 on, I just assumed I must have missed something when copying across. IRL you should not even get the LAND come up and I believe there would be some kind of ECAS warning while on the ILS with just one AP on.

I don't think you can add waypoints without adding some other kind of FMC (I can tell you how if you have a Carenado Pro line system plane), changing active waypoints is easy, just add a popup of the default GPS into the panel.cfg and use that. It may already be there but I am not sure.

I will check this evening as the A320 CFM is the only one I am flying at the moment, it's possible an install went wrong somewhere as there's so much copying required with all these updates. It's strange that the 2d lever moves correctly, isn't it a case of just copying that code to the VC? Anyway, it's not something I noticed in using it for many months as I look at my own axis to check flap position instead of the VC one. I was on 2.0G, I just didn't copy the .txt file across. Agree, it's weird that the bigger aircraft have less flaps even if they are using the same wing. Did you see the A321 has extra slots for more lift so it would make sense to give it a higher lift number in the aircraft.cfg so it will match the figures.

Yes, that is how the real world airbus flap logic works, you can do a a search for those terms and see how pilots say the plane doesn't slow down too much on slats until it gets to F2 and they need 1+F on retraction or too much lift would be lost at once.

François, the N1 climb limit is linked to the N2 number so the power is about 10% less than it should be and that really takes effect at 30,000+. It can often lead to a stall when heavily loaded.
