Go ahead with your modifications, and when you're done you may upload them to a filesharing site to share with the members of the forum if you wish. I'd suggest dropbox or rapidshare. Re: A321 Panel
The flaps are accurate, the 737 panel gauges just don't reflect the flap settings properly.
I simply press F6 and F7 as required to get the desired flap setting. Pressing F7 once gives flaps 1, twice gives flaps 1+F, three times gives flaps 2, and so on.
Hope that helps,

Approach/landing speeds at full flaps vary from 125kts (at empty weight) to 145kts (at MLW). In other words, yes, you are approaching too fast. From your post I guess the Wilco panel is preventing you from approaching at slower speeds? If so that's a panel issue I can't help you with, though you mi...

Re: Engine effects issue on A318
Doesn't sound like an effects issue, I think what you're referring to is the engine fan animations. The a318-319-320 use standard FS animations which aren't very accurate. With the 321 we coded custom animations to improve the spool up. There's no way to transfer the animations to the previous model...

Turbosquid aircraft models are notoriously inaccurate, but in any case i don't think we'd start an a350 until at least the prototype was constructed. For now there's no way of knowing if that model is accurate or not to my knowledge so I doubt it's worth the time/money.

Yes, rename the A320's .air so that it has the same name as the A319's .air file. Then copy it into the A319 folder and overwrite. You might want to back up the old .air file just in case.

The original FDE designer is no longer active with PA, just so you know. Only he'd be able to fully answer your question. 196,210lbs / 89,000kg MTOW is straight from the A321 TCDS. More specifically, from an unmodded A321-211/231. If you want to use the actual aircraft's certified weights for your edits, you should be looking at the TCDS. There are a few different variants listed: http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guid...

^ Right, well I won't discount the possibility the aircraft is behaving differently on your system, but I just made a few tests on my machine and am pretty certain I understand what's going on. In short, you're climbing too slowly. At 160kts you're on the EXTREME back end of the A321's power curve. ...

Well that depends on what you mean by "forever" :geek: . With a load like that I'd assume a TOW of about 175000lbs or so? In that situation you should have a climb of about 28-30 minutes to get to 350. Regarding the original post, I can't be sure since I don't have any takeoff distance cha...

I have had this issue happen a couple of times, always when reducing the throttles from values above 100%. The difference between the 320 fde and the 380 fde is that the former limited N1 values at 95% or so, even at full throttle. The 380 will easily reach 110% or more at full throttle, meaning the...

Real jet heat shimmer is caused by a phenomenon known as refraction, which is basically the distortion of light as it passes through an object (in this case, air at radically different temperatures). As far as I know, the FS visual engine can't simulate refraction, so a true shimmer simulation will ...

A few people had issues with the A319 power. The best fix is to use the .air file from our A320 or A318 release, should work fine then. It will still act like an A319 because the A319 performance modifications are in the aircraft.cfg.
