Re: Long live the Red Tail!! - Northwest A320

Polygonal Lasso is probably a better choice. Sorry, that's what I meant. (I don't tend to use other "types" of the lasso tool) The nwa titles are looking a bit squashed now by the way. I know you said you'd leave the effects for a later date - but when you do tackle them, make sure you ge...

Make sure you blend the hstab shadow so it's faded by the time it reaches the bottom of the fuselage. I understand what you're saying, though I'm not sure how to tackle that problem, sensei. Probably the feather tool? Yup - use the lasso tool with a feather (probably around 20px but experiment for ...

Tom is no doubt a fantastic painter, but we've got an impressive ensemble, including John, Dickson and Gary working on the A321, who are quite on par. They might not be regular posters, but they deserve just as much praise if you'd ask me. I just thought I'd plug this here. Well said - it's always ...

Hi Nicolas,

The Virgin logo on the tail is now different - you're using the original one, but the current one is a little sharper. Have a look at the logo in this EPS (ignore the now outdated title text of course):

Re: Fictional paints

Regarding the belly blue, bear in mind that when you take it from a photo it will likely be darker than its true colour due to shading in the photo; plus your paintkit will add shading so it'll be darker again. The blue should be the same colour as the BRITISH AIRWAYS text. The colours in this photo...

The pixelated look is quite difficult to achieve; I usually create the gradients as black-white (reflected) on separate layers each, but do it around 4x the size you ultimately need. Then try a couple of photoshop filters; I find that "Water Paper" (in sketch) or Halftone Pattern work quit...

Not bad - the BA colours are a little off though. The blue on the belly and tail needs to be a lighter shade (what you've got there is closer to the old Landor colours) - and conversely the BRITISH AIRWAYS titles need to be adjusted a bit. Blue belly line should probably be a little lower too (altho...
