"The switch" (X-Plane).

Having tried X-plane for a while, I have to say it feels and looks great (well, when it's night it doesn't "look" at all). The only thing missing from it is the vast user base to support it with extra A/C, despite the proccess being more straightforward. It does seem strange to me that not...

Re: My first plane in GMAX

There are two ways to make a fuselage (or anything): -Spline modeling: you use circles, and then use loft to get the shape you want. This way you make the cross sections of the fuselage, and Gmax automatically makes all of itfor you. You just need to make some tweaks. Depending on how many cross sec...

Re: My first plane in GMAX

I do not know how to compile sceneries, but I do know that you model it in Gmax as usually and export the airport in parts, then place it. I.e. you model the entire thing, and then export the main terminal & tower, then the taxiways, then the other buildings, then any surrounding roads and so on...

It seems you have become a bit familiar with the tools in Gmax. I think your objects are too high on polygons though. For objects that will be that small, you don't need to have so many polygons.

Keep it simple: the model will be native FS9, and should be compatible with FSX. Take PA's A32x and POSky's 777 as examples.

Once you have created the cylinder, right click->Convert to editable mesh. Then, by selecting Vertex (the three dots to the right) and the move tool, you can make it any way you want. Just select the vertices and move them.

Re: Moving on, part 5

I cannot give you a clear answer on the panel. We'll get to it and see how it goes. The cabin can't coexist with the cockpit because of the renderer's limitation in FS9. It's either one or the other. You will be notified with updates when there is some progress that is worth mentioning, don't worry ...

If you can't find the checkbox, then you don't have Acceleration/SP2 installed=>No DX10. In this case, you may have forgotten to install the texture folder or messed with the texture= entry in Aircraft.cfg, in the respective aircraft's folder.

Take your time and learn the skills necessary. The method I use on my models is to set up the bacground images and then start out with the basic cylinder shape. When I want to make parts that don't follow a specific pattern (i.e. a wing's base into the fuselage) I do the following: 1)Select and deta...

It would show better in a wireframe. Some points to take care of when you start your next model: -On the nose you can see that the reflection bends a bit upwards. Re: Virtual cabins

This can be done in FSX, but I think it only works if the separate models (interior and exterior) were compiled with the FSX SDK. I am not 100% sure on that though.
For FS9, the VC must be built-in, there is no other way (other than reverse engineering, of course, and it's frowned upon).
