I wasn't threatening to press Charges. I was threatening to file a claim with the website unless the video was taken down. which it was. Now I have no plans to complain any further. so lets drop it. It's been dealt with.

Last I checked this thread was dedicated to updates regarding the a/c. Not stupid bickering back and forth about touchy subjects. Am I wrong? Can we get back on topic?

not officially, but I can probably give Qatar a try. However, once that paintkit is out, a Korean Air is a MUST PAINT by yours truly as that is all I really want to do with the A380 paintkit.

Now please no more he said, she said crap. I feel like I'm in the 7th grade again just reading over those comments and it's not going to make the A380 come out sooner. :|

Air NZ Needs at least 1 A380 To Be Eye Candy to those around the world. QANTAS isnt the only A380 that looks good in an oceanic airline.

If you'd have read the entire topic you would know that asking how much longer is taboo.
so if you dont want to be strung up drawn and quatered you'd probably be best of not asking about how much longer or when it will be released

Matt

Today at 8pm was the first comercial flight of the Lufthansa A380, Flight number LH2010 from Frankfurt/main (My city ^^) to Johannesburg (South-Afrika)
On board, the German football team...but the weather was rainy and the flight was delayed a half hour...but was great to see the bird taking off !!

I think they made upgrades for the A380 as part of their major re-development as Air France have been operating their A380's there since mid February

Oh good!
But if I remember correct the runways are not that long for the A380 in Johannesburg in FS. Right?

I've just checked and they are roughly the same size as their real life counterparts so there shouldn't be a problem landing ;)

remember too the A380 needs less runway than a 747 does... FAJS gets 47's all the time...

I still don't get why they put only 2 thrust reversers, with 4, the landing performance will be way greater...

lordsniper wrote:I still don't get why they put only 2 thrust reversers, with 4, the landing performance will be way greater...
Reversers don't add much performance; most of it comes from the brakes. The reason there are no outboard reversers is the risk of FOD (foreign object damage) - due to the wingspan, the outboard engines will often be near or over the grass on either side of the runway and so the likelihood of picking up damage from loose objects is relatively high.

On the first visit of the A380 in DUS (some years ago), the crew didn't even use reverse power.
Seems like they only use it when necessary.

I heared that from a Lufthansa pilot, who flyes the A380 and he said that at one landing he needed just about 1 kilometer to land...

Could be Aeroflot. It just seems really little. Although I did notice back in the days when I flew the Wilco A380v.1 that she didn't need a lot of space. I landed her several times on a 1.9km concrete strip in my neighbourhood. Just thought that I was able to achieve that because of bad flight dynamics.

Airbus also said that adding only 2 reverse thrust mechanisms was a weight saving feature for the 380.

yes, and the reverse thurst on engine 1 and 4 (the both outside) would blast stones and everything near the runways away...

Just to keep things vaguely on topic...

After a few small model tweaks and base texture updates to the rudder area, here's another shot (I'm practicing some screenshot editing):
