Wow excellent stuff there guys. Your visual models of the Airbus series are the best - better than the payware stuff easily. Thanks for all these great planes!! Looking forward to the VC...its the last peice of the A380 jigsaw and then we will all be simming into the night on those long hauls

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Development is usually slow cos we only have limited resources.
Currently Derek is on leave, Alex is busy with his military commitments, Demetris is back to college, Gary is balancing school with developments & I'm good for nothing as usual
so dont hold your breath too mcuh. Just enjoy the aircraft in FS and with time there will be more to add to it.

Hi all, we have a little treat here. Been a long time, and so , here I am presenting the ECAM I was working on. Guys, please do remember this is still Work In Progress. It has all the checklists implemented. There is also a feature, running in the background, which will not be announced anytime soon. It's impossible to perceive, so for now, do enjoy the ecam screenshots.

Wow the texture looks very nice~~ Awesome job guys =]
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
well, i have one question about the VC to the PA team.
Will the VC be a full functional like the one in the Airsimmer A320, or Aerosoft Airbus x, so you can klick on each button and the overhead panel.
or will it be just like the one from Projectopensky's 777, with the main functions, like autopilot, engines lights, and no overhead buttons ?
just wanted to know what to expect. sorry if this goes to far

As far as systems go, there is still the line that distinguish Freeware from Payware.

yeah, i know there's that line...GaryG wrote:I recall it's not April 1st.B.M wrote:well, i have one question about the VC to the PA team.

but PA is much better than all payware (commercial jets i know) the external models are perfect
ok, i wish you good luck and fun with making the VC guys !
i'll wait for it .

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Just a question...
If someone had the time and talent to take your VC gauges and stick them in a 2d panel, would you let them?

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
im sure somewhere along the line there would be but.... why do you still need the unrealistic 2D panel.... VC's are surely the best way to fly. If its the Realism and 'Simulation' your after then VC's are the way forward, soon I think that almost all aircraft you can get on freeware have a VC and certainly all the payware. Payware Aircraft like the aerosoft Beaver and the superb L-39 don't have any 2d panels as they see that they are not needed in such a high quality aircraft; Now that is what I call Simulation.
Sorry Ill stop my ranting now
Back on Topic,
Iv seen some of the gauges in the pictures you guys have previewed and they look very nice. How many people have worked on this Project Airbus model inside and out in total? and will the wing tips be visible from the VC side windows?
Keep up the good work, the VC is an Important part of the aircraft

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
we need a realistic 2D panel...
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Relax man, you already stated this on Sat Aug 14, 2010 9:20 amariput wrote:we need a realistic 2D panel...
No need for repetition. Better get an idea of this.

Hi... I'd like to make some points about this...GaryG wrote:Relax man, you already stated this on Sat Aug 14, 2010 9:20 amariput wrote:we need a realistic 2D panel...
No need for repetition. Better get an idea of this.
Regards
First: Is obvious that out there in the web there is no better model than PA A380, and we, as coustomers, fans of aviation, and... well actual pilots... we know that and we thank you and we congratulate you... but you have to know that this kind of things such as comments and repetitions such as the one im posting are not to bug you, but to help you to incrase the quality of your products... You don't have to answer in a rude way, which is not the first time, and is not only him... Just make things more clear for all of us... You tell us to be tuned whit your forum.. and we're participating on something that in the end if for us... and you should feel greatful to be part of it... - not that i believe you don't feel that way -
Now i want to make one question about this issue of the 3D/2D: You're using gauges, like the ones used for 2D panels, for the cration of the 3D panel, don't you? If so then you should clarify this, this means that we wouldn't need a 2D pnl, or any of you customers can create one whit those gauges, not to steal your work, to help in your work... Maybe the "fear" or let's call it, the dislike of all of this is to have a HQ or HD virtual cockpit but have all the screens in black, whit out anything...
Please don't get mad whit us, this is my request, and maybe you're busy people, students perhaps, i'm too, so let us help you, so you can do the same to us.
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Keep cool, guys. We don't know if we're doing a 2d panel yet
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
A 2D-panel would be great though! I haven't found one yet that really satisfies me.

Gary is this Virtual cockpit designed for FS2004 or FSX, ??
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
I understand you guys hate these questions and normally I am the last one to ask them, but do you have a rough estimation about the release date of the A380 VC?
I know that there might be problems or new ideas you aren't even aware of right now, slowing down the developement but from the actual point of view, do you think it will be finished some time in first half of 2011?
Again: I don't mean to bother you, I'm just curious.

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Well, the model's basically done, as are the textures. It's all about when we're done with the gauges—shouldn't be too long now.

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
I don't know if there'll be an FSX native model, but the FS9 model should work fairly well in FSX

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
I will try to do all my best to make the VC accurate and out fast.
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Gary, I appreciate all your guys' efforts. Its really a landmark and benchmark project. "Slowly, we'll get there"
Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
I didn't mean to question that! I know, you guys are working hard and I appreciate your efforts. I just wanted to have a rough schedule. You take your time and no matter how long it will take, I'm sure the result will be just stunning!GaryG wrote:I will try to do all my best to make the VC accurate and out fast.

Does the Airbus A380 vc have auto brakes since Tom Ruth's 340 vc and A321 vc doesnt have WORKING Autobrakes!
Hope to see the vc soon!

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
The reason for no autobrakes may be due to the fact that FS9 has "issues" with planes that have more than the normal three contact points. That's why the-group-formerly-known-as-Posky came up with their own addon autobrake gauge. You could always try merging that into your panel.Thilan wrote:Does the Airbus A380 vc have auto brakes since Tom Ruth's 340 vc and A321 vc doesnt have WORKING Autobrakes!

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews

Good point - the Posky autobrake gauge is designed for FS9 and may not work in "X."
