category = airplaneYou can not merge the Overland A380 VC with this...the overland is FS9 native, this is FSX native...there is a huge difference...and in any case this is only possible between FSX mdl files and for FSX only(adding virtual cockpits)...in FS2004 this kind of mergings are not possible because the interior and the exterior of the model are grouped all in the same mdl file and you can not add other mdl files in the model.cfg, because it is an option not supported in FS2004...if you merge FS9 native mdl file and FSX native mdl files, like in this case(at least what I guess you are trying to make) the result is that you can't see any of them...be aware of this from now on...you can recognize if an airplane is composed by FSX or FS9 mdl native files by opening them with the notepad...if the left top corner the writing is MDL8MDLH it is FS9 native, if it is MDLXMDLH it is FSX native, so it supports, by adding the proper model.cfg entry another FSX native mdl file which can be used for example for the interiors, in this case virtual cockpit or virtual cabin...Keep in mind that by now the most suitable freeware virtual cockpit for the FSX native Project Airbus A380 is the Thomas Ruth A340 VC, while the most closer VC that you can merge is the one of the wilco A380(at least they made it FSX native)...for the project Airbus A380 VC we have to be PATIENT...I suppose that as for the external model, it will be releasedfirst the FS2004 native version...(and if someone is so sick to test it in FSX platform, he will notice that it will slow down FSX to 10 fpspanadar wrote:Has anybody been able to merge this AWESOME A380 with the Overland A380 vc cockpit. If so, would you be willing to post how you did it? I have a basic idea, but i would like the settings to get the cockpit viewpoint correct. Thanks in advance.
