I'd caution on getting too excited or speculation

If the tests on saturday go to plan, it will only mean we can arrive at some preliminary launch schedule that will allow me to plan a few tentative dates. It does not mean it WILL be launched on saturday.. or sunday.

How exactly do you test the aircraft? Is it just testing the flight dynamics or something?

Though there are many ways we put the FDE through tests, in brief - testing for us is a combination of these.

1) random flights - takeoffs & climbs / cruise as the need may be - different manuevers etc
2) Simulated proper flights - comparison the real world flights (in terms of adherence to the published times +/- acceptable margins)
3) Circuits - different weight levels / winds etc
4) comparison of fuel burn on long/short/medium range flights @ different flight levels both with winds & without winds

So far from the flights i have flown, the fuel burn & therefore performance does appear ok (as best we can estimate from the different data we have) but obviously we have accepted the fact that we cannot get very accurate on the actual figures (it would require a hell of a lot of specific data - in most cases airline specific data which we cannot get and dont have either)

There's more but i cant really be bothered to list out the specifics of each test scenario

Just a note to say thanks to you and the others in the group for such a wonderful project you're doing! I, like many are looking forward to flying that whale soon!

Happy Landings!

Wow. Thanks for the info :) I should have mentioned this earlier, but you want specific information on the A380, or are interested in flying it in general, take a look at this book (http://www.google.com/books?id=GnpOPgAA ... +a380&cd=4). Very detailed flight from Heathrow to Dubai. Good luck with the tests ;)

and just how do you expect us to answer that question? seriously.

smooth = as smooth as they can be/should be in FS. Does that make sense?

I don't get why they said "radio silence"... What does that mean? Is it something like the Apollo 13 mission had -radio silence- just before landing into the ocean?

Very nice feeling knowing it's coming soon...but I did a quick search and could'nt find the exact answer so I'll just pop it in here.

When it does get released, will it be released with Tom Collins SQ & EK paints?, or just standard white?

Bad move on your part, never ask a freeware group to divulge info about release dates, Dom you should know that.

Matt, I'd like you to genuinely point out...where in my post do I mention a "release date"?, I simply asked if it was a probability that the Singapore & Emirates paints would be released along side the model...absolutely nothing about a date when it will be released...

Since they were the only two liveries shown to date, I'd say it's a bit of a rhetorical question.

Rhetorical?, the way I see it...not in the slightest, the fact that 2 liveries were shown doesn't necessarily mean they'll be included for the initial release of the model, they could come 2 days after or 2 months after, which is the question I was asking...it's a simple "yes","no"...or "probably"...I was just curious what PA's plans are on the livery side of things.

Everybody's looking to something more than the rest.

We will have a schedule as per what we need to do & what's on our priority list. As of now, the paintkit is not right up there.

So yeah thats all for now.

...and release it without a single livery for us to enjoy? No sane freeware group would do that!

Hey, cant wait for this release. Just one question, will this be multiplayer compatible? When logged onto vatsim or any network your A320 family aircraft crash my sim when someone else flies one nearby.

That isn't a compatability issue. Check your settings in FS - Detect crashes and ...

well something like that, but again, I flew it in multiplayer, it is NOT a multiplayer issue, check your settings.

Regards.

PS: you can prove this by trying different aircraft, ending with the same result

I dont mean actually crashing into another aircraft, when in FSX and another PA A320 pops up FSX gets a fatal error.

You'll have to contact Thomas Ruth

The A380 is compiled with the FS9 SDK and shouldn't have this issue
