What if Project Airbus or POSKY went payware?

Post by anels9 » 20 Mar 2011, 19:58

1. What's the reason behind fantastic groups like PAirbus to be freeware and not payware?
2. If PAirbus was payware, would models like the A321 come out quicker due to a bigger team/more demand?
3. Would PAirbus lose followers if it went payware?
4. Do you ever think PAirubs WILL go payware, and if so what would cause them to?
5. If PAirbus went payware would they develop slightly better models or would they add stuff like panels, sound etc?
6. Why hasn't PAirbus gone payware already?

This pretty much concludes my questions. The above also goes for the POSKY questions as well.

If PAirbus announced a date that they would go payware I would download all of their planes possible! haha :P

1. Great people doing great things.

2. That depends, the modelers here at PAirbus take their time in making the modes, although having a bigger team could speed up the process and testing.

3. I'm not sure but I would leave PAirbus because I'm not willing to pay money for planes (yes I'm cheap).

4. No no no no because they are awesome!

5. Again it depends on the time spent and the size of the team.

6. Look at question 4 :)

John :)

I like all your answers especially number 3 :P, but I'm the same way. I too wouldnt pay for PAirbus models (no offense) not because they're bad but just because I don't see why I should pay for something that's always been a free service.

1. Some people are seduced by the dark side of the force.
2. They would not, quality takes time.
3. Yes, I wouldn't but yes?
4. they better not. greed (and they aren't so they wont)?
5. Their stuff is already beyond payware standard...
6. Because they are the best freeware team in flight simulation.

1. What's the reason behind fantastic groups like PAirbus to be freeware and not payware?
Reasons usually are either moral or situational
3. Would PAirbus lose followers if it went payware?
Unlikely. Payware groups have heaps of followers
4. Do you ever think PAirubs WILL go payware
Highly, highly unlikely. If any of us do decide to do payware, it'll be under a new identity. This was in POSKY's plans before they fell out
and if so what would cause them to?
Having no money

No, it'd have been a payware 'branch.' Though, do note, I didn't mean POSKY as an entity.

Were we ever to do payware, the new group would have no affiliation to PA, and it wouldn't necessarily mean we'd be abandoning PA.

Eventually, it will be abandoned. Because whether you like it or not, priority goes to payware.

I guess I'd have to find a freeware equivalent.

FSP won't go payware as they have no one with the ability to complete a project since Hiroshi left..
