Virtual Cockpit for the new A321?

Post by Tevin »

I am wondering if there is anyone working on a VC for the recently released A321. The model is great and it flies well (certainly better than the default a321) but i just can't enjoy flying it without that "being there" feel of a VC. I've seen Thomas Ruth make a VC for the A380 so I know its possible. I don't fully understand how VC's work ,hence the hours trying to import files from Ruth's a330/340 and the PA 320 into the A321. So anyone know what to do?
Thanks in advance.

I think he refers to the A340 VC, that has been merged several times with PA A380.

You can merge he default A321 VC into the PA321, just take the interior model from the default's model folder and paste it into PA's, then open the model.cfg and take out the two slashes before the "interior" line, everything else like the eyepoint in the aircraft.cfg is already done. As for a completely separate VC model developed for the A321, no, I doubt it'll be around for a while.

Whoa. that's it? I was doing that all morning and got nothing. Just tried it and it worked. Only thing is now is everything except the screens and guages are black. Do I need to copy some of the .dds files or something?

Dude thank you so much for ending my suffering! I was doing the right thing all day except for one thing...I hadn't copied the texture.cfg! Ill recap what to do for anyone else having trouble.

1) Copy the Airbus_A321_interior.mdl in the model folder of the default a321 and paste it into the model folder of the PA A321. Next, remove the two // from the model cfg where it says
[models]
normal=A321_200_IAE_WV
//interior=Airbus_A321_interior

2) Open the texture folder of the default a321 and copy all files beginning with "A321_" AS WELL AS THE TEXTURE CFG lol

3) Paste the files into the texture.[whatever livery it is] folder
