CLS A330 used in AF447 reconstruction

Post by A321flyer » 28 May 2011, 01:36

This was a news article from BBC showing how the Air France airbus fell, a stall made it descend about 11000ft per second :o

The reconstruction of the flight was done by Just Flight (the CLS A330 model) as seen in the video

It's been pretty conclusively asserted it did _not_ disintegrate before impact

You should probably read the reports—

11000ft/s? It would break up but it didn't break up...surely it's 11,000 ft/m!

It's a typo. He meant per minute. Obviously it's physically impossible for any object to achieve such a speed.

Unthinkable horror though in those last 3.5 minutes. The actions of the F/O when the aircraft was about to stall somewhat reminds me of the crew on the Colgan Air Q400 that crashed in Buffalo last year. Although that was caused from fatigue and no-experience whatsoever in those conditions. Fatigue may have played a role in AF447 as well....

Differing speed readings pretty much means bad pitot tubes...Birgenair Flight 301?
