CFM or IAE?

Hello fellow captains!

Just wondering what most Airbus flightsimmers prefer, the CFM 56-5B or the IAE V2500s? :)

What soundpacks are airbus simmers using? I'm currently enjoying the CFM with the TSS payware soundpack
I'm a greater fan of CFM ;)

Any opinions?

IEA2500 (soundpack from TSS too) i think the longer and thinner IAE makes the Airbusses look more "slim" and longer. I think they look much smarter than the "fat" CFMs. But the reversers are much more cool at CFM.

CFMs = More Power .....I like them because the look conventional lol. Normal looking engines and as for soundpack......I have a custom set that devyn silverstein made for me.

I personally prefer flying with CFM56-5Bs but I have to agree that the IAE V2500 is also a superb powerplant!

fully agree! Although they say the V2500 is more fuel efficient and less noisier ;) but in my opinion I love the powerful sound the CFM engine makes! In my opinion by far the best aircraft engine sound :)

yea it has the growl that the A300s have just toned down a bit! Great Sound. Maybe Ill share my custom set with you since it sounds like you honestly respect the sound lol.

I myself am I CFM fan. Have always loved the sounds when you sit in front of them. Of course CFM's are the only engines Air Canada uses for their A320 family (Im an ACA guy :P).

I fully agree! :) Yeah I'm an Iberia and Vueling fan so, that kind of explains it! But I've traveled with other airlines and on different aircraft... still prefer the CFM56-5B sound over the others ;)

Currently fly IAE but I'm thinking of switching to CFM because of the faux realism of the fact that IAE engines have EPR gauges but FSX is N1.

Are there differences between the pairbus CFM and IAE models in terms of flight characteristics?

I don't have a problem using both types, but I'm in love with the sound those IAE V2500's make.
It is a sexy engine.
