A320 Family, A380 and beyond...

Post by M@rco »

After the completing of the A321 VC/Cabin and A320 V2.1 you guys did a lot of projects (A320 Family, A380). In my opinion the best Airbusses which are freeware.
But what will happen in the future? Are there any plans? I do not think that's all you did. Since starting A380 Project I looked every single day, maybe four times a day, into this forum to know how far is it going but when the day came which was the "end" of Project Airbus I was really sad. The coming back of PAirbus was very great. The only thing I can say is "Thank you". You are the best!

why A330? there're enough A330/A340 out there. It's better to let PA deal with this issue.

For FSX there is, the thomas ruth model, but for fs9, were stuck with mods and merges, and I dont like to say this, but the Overland A330/340 is lacking significantly in model detail. the CLS is okay, but very buggy and who knows how old the POSKY model is

Actualy, A330 is really needed, no newer model for FS9, and although really great, Tom A330 is not very perfect in modeling and textures.
So, a PA A330 will be welcomed.

I hanker to a exclusive A330-200F on PA's-quality. The A332F of Tom is not so bad but I miss the high detail & quality of PA.

i would think PA should start A350 some time around now and after few years of work the real A350 would be out and perhaps PA team could release their A350 at the same time of the real thing, but hey  thats just my crazy idea again ;)

Nop, not before the real one is on air. Usual discipline here on PA ;-).

I prefer the overland A340-300 over any A340-300 out there.

As for A330, CLS beats overland but buggy. So I guess if PA does A330, I really hope it will be a good one. I don't fly it often.

Really? I thought it's only POSKY who does that :? (and that's why the 787 is a stillborn  they have modeled everything but waiting for the 787 to be flown then... nobody knows what happened to that model  )

Agree with the A330/340 series, since the best we got from freeware for fs9 is ages old, seriously outdated from today's standard. And the A350 is too early to start its development since we're lacking of acurate data to start with, perhaps the A330/340 is the right choice.

Why not make an Airbus A300/A310? To be honest there is no good quality A300 out there except maybe the HNAC which is VERY old. I always wanted an A300-600R.

How else would a plane be accurately modeled? After all, you can't just waltz into Toulouse or Everett to get all of the accurate and meticulous details, that goes for most virtual cockpits too, people always ask or complain there is no VC in FREEWARE, and same applies here; you can't just go into a cockpit nowadays to make an accurate model, especially not with planes that aren't even in commercial service yet (and most of the time, you'd need more than just photos for a model of say Hiroshi's standard anyhow).

Of course, you could just rush the developers to modeling a plane that's not out in the real world, complain about it, and say it's a crappy rush job and has the standards of Abacus jets (or even lower, if that was possible), that would be absolutely ridiculous and stupid.

In short, PA (and most freeware developers) are not miracle workers!

A poll....so easy to do. Ever heard of this quote by John F. Kennedy?

"Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country"

How about everybody get a bit of motivation to learn something new?

Unbelievable, lets just hope this poll is not correct, I certainly do not fly the A340 model, and if i ever, its like once a year, I prefer the A330 the most. But this is just opinion. (come on A330!!)

I have made claim after claim about the A345/346 here until carpal tunnel syndrome feels like an afterthought. I usually keep quiet about it, but I think this claim is justified given that someone chose to bring up this thread on what PA should do next.

The last A345/346 model that is freeware AND FS9 compatible is Simubuild's, which is older than POSKY's A330/A340 and is horribly inaccurate.

Image

This jpeg helps get my point (and one possibly shared by others) across pretty clearly. I did post this picture back on the poll (made by actual PA members!) before the A321 was made official, only to have it fall on deaf ears. I will acknowledge that at the time, the A321 was more practical in its simplicity from the rest of the A32X series, and that PA made a lot of fans happy, but I am hoping people can actually see the logic in my claim.

I am in agreement that the A330 is a great plane (and the A342/343 depending on the livery) and that the amount of liveries to be painted on it from everyone including myself is almost limitless (I do have some ideas on what I will paint, should the A330 be the next model from PA). However, I feel that the A345/346 has been neglected for a bit too long, and needs to be given justice. I have faith that PA can do so as much as they have with the A32X family, the A380, and anything else they choose to make. Granted if they choose to make the A346, I would be hoping for a nice Lufthansa paint to go with it (anything else is gravy) and that if they were to actually be making it behind the scenes and show previews tomorrow, we will not be able to have it on our harddrives for months, if not longer if the A380 hiatus taught us anything.

To PA: It doesn't matter so much what you choose to make next as I will admire the fruits of your labor at the levels which are deemed appropriate at the time, but please do the FS community a favor and make it FS9 compatible!

I absolutely agree with you. They're doing it for free, not wanting anything in return. I just pointed out about the Beluga, since, you know, it's very nice, but no one ever pointed it out :P

Highly unlikely, as they model exclusively for FS as it is very easy to alter the coding for add-ons. Aside from that, I hear the coding for X-plane is rather complicated for add-on software.

Indeed. BTW, Tom Ruth has released the 300/Beluga/310 series for FSX, as well as FS9 source files on avsim for those interested. I gave the A300 VC a try but I was too occupied with the 380,320 and 717 to work on it.

You had done the A320 Family and A380. So you can doing the A330. Nothing more to wish from PA.
