FAA Chart Fee Petition

Post by Spinikker » 22 Nov 2011, 01:00

Hey fellow US flight sim enthusiasts and pilots,

A new mandate has been put into place for the FAA to begin charging for the access of approach charts by April 5, 2012.This means non profit organizations, used by both pilots and flight simmers, that publicly display these charts for reference will probably no longer continue to do so. Pilots would be required to offset this cost (however if you are a pilot yourself I know you would rather not have to do that) and for simmers it would mean having to pay for chart usage. I've seen this petition in a couple different places, and now I am placing it here. The deadline is December 14th 2011, and we still need around 22,000 signatures...

Please support general aviation and flight simming and keep the basic approach charts we use every day available for use. Sign up takes maybe 90 seconds.

The following link is to the whitehouse.gov website and I hope you will sign it
