There was the idea of implementing cameras, after finding a rumoured tweak for the Spirit of St. Louis' periscope. The trick doesn't stand, and we don't have the know-how to do it. So there won't be any taxicam views for the 380.

Hi...
Even though I am not an expert, I can say that, that is far easier to do than any gauge around the panel because all you have to do is to open a new window and move the eyepoint to the top of the tail.

regards.

The video is from X-Plane. A much different simulator to mod. And there can't be two eyepoints in an FS9 window. The only way to actually have a taxi cam in FS9 is to open a new window "[" or "]", set it in Spot view and go from there. The FSView hack doesn't work.

Is there not some way to code a button in the panel (perhaps using XML) to automatically open a new view in the right position?

You can have such a gauge, but time is better spent making the important gauges and ironing out the wrinkles. It is easy enough to do with a couple of mouse clicks, anyway. :D

I know you could do it with a few mouse clicks but it's so much slicker to have a gauge that functions as the real thing does. Will the Panels SDK give me the information I need to make such a gauge?

Giving it a try together with experience and searching, should be a complete answer to your question.

Just use DBS walk and follow and save your viewpoints...
