A380 Call Sign
A380 Call Sign
I was wondering if it's possible to get it so when ATC calls you they call you "Super Heavy" like they do in the real world?

I think it's impossible, because you should have to edit ATC files :?
Uh, if there is mistakes, sorry I'm not english

Re: A380 Call Sign
Isn't it just "super" because I was listening to JFK atc once and all I heard was "super"... maybe they just shortened it :?
Re: A380 Call Sign
I was wondering that too. When the "House" A380 visited LAX the called it "A380 Super Heavy," but when Qantas's A380 comes they just refer to it as "Super." So who knows....lbonomo wrote:Isn't it just "super" because I was listening to JFK atc once and all I heard was "super"... maybe they just shortened it :?

Re: A380 Call Sign
I think its because in house they call it
"Super Heavy"
And in Airline operation its e.g. for Qantas
"Qantas Super"
Just a guess

Re: A380 Call Sign
So I've made the call sign "super" on edit voicepack but don't know how to get it into FSX
Re: A380 Call Sign
Since the A380 is listed as heavy jumbo. ATC calls it by the airline, the flight number and adds the word heavy. (e.x. Qantas 123 Heavy, Cleared for take off runway 30L, winds calm.)

Right, but I want it to replace the "heavy" with "super" so I'm wondering how...dotsalgon wrote:Since the A380 is listed as heavy jumbo. ATC calls it by the airline, the flight number and adds the word heavy. (e.x. Qantas 123 Heavy, Cleared for take off runway 30L, winds calm.)

Re: A380 Call Sign
Yeah but, if you do this, you will get the "super" call sign for heavy aircrafts. The problem is : how to add "super" on A380's callsigns and let "heavy" for heavies ? And without adding that new feature to FS's ATC files !? I think we can't do this easily :?
This can make a complete add-on... The man who find a way to implement that function to FS (with a button in the same place where you choose to call an aircraft "heavy") can make money with his work ! :mrgreen:
I mean to choose between "heavy" and "super"
PS : I hope you understood ^^ My English isn't always perfect :mrgreen:

Re: A380 Call Sign
Whatever, I'll just leave it as "heavy" and suck it up
Re: A380 Call Sign
Hi there... I'm new user. So please be kind.
I want that my merged PA380 says in the FSX-ATC that is an Airbus A380. In the original PAirbus it already does. So where must I put in what to get the to in my merge. Please help

Re: A380 Call Sign
Open the aircraft.cfg with notepad. Look for the [general] section, and make sure the following lines read like so:
Code: Select all
[general]
atc_type = AIRBUS
atc_model = A380
Re: A380 Call Sign
I have never herd 'Super Heavy' for a clearance and i spot are LHR with a ATC Scanner.
It's just Heavy
