A380 FSNav Data

Post by Tom Clayton » 13 Oct 2010, 01:35

I like to use FSNav for flight planning, so I loaded up the new A380 and did a little number gathering. I tried to generalize as much as I could to get what might be an overall "average." These numbers from my aircraft.ini are what I came up with. The climb rate is reduced due to step climbing with a near max loadout. The numbers may be halfway close, or they may be WAY off, so if anyone familiar with the inner workings of the flight dynamics can offer any changes, I'm wide open to sugestions. Meanwhile, this is what I have:

[Airbus A380]
withoutash=0
climbspeed=280
climbfuel=42000
climbrate=1400
cruisespeed=310
cruisefuel=33000
cruisealtitude=35000
descentspeed=160
descentfuel=9000
descentrate=1600
fuelmeasure=0
revision=3

So... Is it save to think this is halfway accurate?

Never used FSNav but descentspeed=160? The descent rate would be more reminiscent of a dive

In the FSNav GUI, that's labeled as "Touchdown Speed."

This is the GUI:
(I changed the Decent rate to 1800.)

Touchdown speed is too high then. Don't know about fuel consumption

Thanks!!! I'll update the touchdown speed to 140. It probably won't make a whole lot of difference in the way the flightplan gets calculated, but every little bit helps!

BTW, the fuel numbers are a VERY generalised average based on both the panel EICAS and the RKG_fuelstat.gau that I installed as a popup window to confirm the EICAS #'s. Of course, I know that weather and varying weights will have an affect on fuel consumption.
