So, I've been attracted to this model for a while...great exterrior model...good paints, VC...but no gauges. I've searched high and low for a panel.cfg that incorporates the virtual cockpit and adds gauges. So...after some more searching, I did find one, that is an amalgamation of FSX stuff and a few other gauges....after a couple hours of tweaking and borrowing from other panels I went from this:
to this:
Not amazing, but now instead of cold and dark MFD's..there is something. If anyone out there has worked on this plane before...or would like to, please PM me and we can try and bring her back to life. I'm a bit of a VC snob and wouldn't have put the effort into it but maybe one of you other airbus drivers would like to participate/contribute. thanks.

Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
The Aerodesigns 318 was made for use with Eric Marciano's old A320 panel gauges. The official base pack installers included them if I recall correctly, so I'm not sure why you weren't seeing anything in the vc.
But nice work on your merge, it looks good!

Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
Derek, I was hoping for that as well, but the A320 and 330 panels I was able to locate by Eric had this:
[Vcockpit01]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$mfdzwo
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
gauge00=A320!airspeed, 40,190,177,180
gauge01=A320!stdby Altimeter, 299,190,177,177
gauge02=737-400!RMI, 55,741,132,132
gauge03=737-400!Clock, 275,758,149
gauge04=airbus.mA320!Standby Attitude, 46,490,152
gauge05=airbus.mgear_320!Left Gear Light, 736,10,42,45
gauge06=airbus.mgear_320!Nose Gear Light, 855,10,45,49
gauge07=airbus.mgear_320!Right Gear Light, 964,10,45,49
gauge08=737-400.autopilot, -102,-135,743,208
// ---------------------------------------------------------
[Vcockpit02]
file=$mfd.bmp
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$mfd
background_color=0,0,0
visible=0
gauge00=A320!PFD, 47,51,267,248
gauge01=A320!PFD, 35,396,287,270
gauge02=A320!ND for VC, 373,52,268,268
gauge03=A320!ND Fake, 373,396,268,268
gauge04=A320!E/WD for VC, 693,42,304,274
gauge05=A320!SD, 690,365,312,233
gauge06=A320!SD Bottom, 690,598,312,47
gauge07=FPDA_A320_Callout, 0,0,1,1
Naturally I got excited thinking this might be the right locations for the lowly 318...but none of the positions are correct (nothing appears at all). Would anyone here happen to have those panels and check to see if they're the same? It'd be nice to drop an original set of locations in, and save some time.

Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
Well like I said, the panel is supposed to be included with the A318 base pack. Make sure you downloaded the A318 base pack off avsim (file is ad318_base.zip), as other downloads may be incomplete or missing the panel altogether.
EDIT: Just noticed it's no longer available on avsim due to the server crash. I might reupload it at some point in the future, but for now it's available on flightsim.com. Search for ad318_ba.zip.

Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
Wow...thats the first time I've seen this particular base pack actually include the vcockpit information...thanks a lot! I'll use this to fine tune what I've already built.
Thanks again
John
*Edit - unfortunately like a lot of others, the A320 gauge or one of the called for gauges crashes FS entirely.
***EDIT...got it, everything looks and works great...another VC'ed plane for my library. It uses a combination of the A330/340 gauges and the config of the base pack straightened out some of the clickable buttons.
if anyone else out there wants it, PM me and I can zip her up for you.
Thanks again
John

Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
I am interested in this too. What about using the default A320? I do have a few PW Airbusses too, but I'm not certain how this all works(I'm kinda new).
Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
Do you mean using a default 320 VC for/from FSX? I'm not familar with how the merge process goes and isnt really possible for FS2004. Sorry! :?
Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
No, I was talking about using some of the exsisting guages for this cockpit, Isn't it just a matter of saying what guages to use, and where to display them? I'm using FSX, BTW. I don't have FS2004. I understand a few things about the config. files, but I'm still new to modding this particular sim...
Re: Aerodesigns Airbus A318 VC gauges
Oh I see. I gather that yes, you can substitute in different gauges for the ones I've already specified in the cfg. Keep in mind you may not see them exactly in the same spot and will have to adjust their position. The first two numbers are X,Y coordinates and the next two numbers are X, Y scaling. Give it a shot and let us know what you have there.
