Gamespy is Dead? - FSX!

By the emails that I am receiving from other pilots, it seems as if NO ONE can log into Gamespy. It is not the issue of being disconnected time after time, but not being able to log in at all! I would like to hear from other FSX users here and see if they are having the same issue.

Could this be the end of Gamespy like Microsoft ended "Microsoft Zone"?

If Gamespy is updating their servers, Turkey Week is the LAST week I would think anyone would want to bring it down!

It wouldn't even recognise my username last week.

To be honest, I've spent about three minutes in multiplayer anyway. I managed to almost taxi to the runway before getting kicked out......twice in a row. I therefore decided that Microsoft were monumental retards for allowing their prime sim to be looked after by such a bunch of morons and then abandoned it.

At least we have a way for registered users of our site to connect! Going through a Direct IP rather than the garbage programming of Gamespy is the only way to fly ANY FSX Multiplayer Server!

If I were to play online, I'd definately be looking for a nice private server.

Oh well, it's up to smart people of the general populace to keep improving the flight sim experience, it'd be a shame to leave the multiplayer feeling left out!

It's wierd how random it is when it decides to quit! I also noticed that it came back online today as well.

I'd like to hear a press release from Microsoft as to what exactly is happening...

The press release from Microsoft would probably sound something like: 'This is GampeSpy's problem. Not ours.' And at GS you would hear: 'This is a Microsoft problem. Not ours.'
