FDE's in FS??? (Flight1 Super 80/SGA MD-8X model)

Post by xparamorex316 » 06 Dec 2010, 23:14

Well hi everyone. I've been working on a merge for the SGA MD-8X series with the Flight One Super 80...
Your probably wondering why in the world would I want to merge the two. The reason being...

1. Saves alot of Memory
2. SGA Model is the later more popular version of the MD-8X with the screwdriver tail.
3. SGA Model has the slight wingflex the real plane has.

But so far the merge works but for some reason im having problems trying to fix the CG...
All the planes weight for some reason falls Aft causing the plane to roll backwards when i extend flaps making it impossible for the plane to fly with the Modded FDE..
the regular SGA FDE's work fine but the plane shoots like a rocket and climbs way too fast on autopilot...

So Im asking you guys for help....
How can i fix either of the problems...

Thanks, Paul

P.S. I have AirWrench so I can edit the Air files easily/// guys just throw your solutions/ideas at me to help me with this problem

If I had to guess, I’d have to say that you might be having some problems with it due to the load manager built into the Flight 1 model.

Although I am completely unaware on how the load manager actually interfaces with the airplane, I can only investigate into this a little! I would assume that the load manager itself is most likely designed to only look for the Super 80 folder and not your modified airplane. However, if the load manager lies inside the structure of the airplane, then you shouldn’t have any issues with merging the panel. Make sure that the proper .dll’s and panel config files are imported into your new airplane. You should also make sure that you have copied over the load stations correctly so the load manager can input the weights properly (the same goes for the fuel stations) in the correct positions.

Another thing you can look into is the reference datum position in the SGA airplane. Make sure the figures you find, line up properly with the Flight 1 model.

I could look into this a little further, but I cannot be sure if your “merge” will work like you think it should. Remember that SGA’s MD-80 models are FS2002 models and might not work with the FSX Super 80.

At least this should get you started!

I never thought that the Super 80 wasn’t really that demanding compared to other jets…. I guess it’s time for you to buy a new CPU and more RAM!
