[WIP] A380 2D Panel based on PA Gauges
Hello guys, since the release of the A380 VC by PA , I wanted to make a 2D panel to go with it with one main reason of the VC taking up frames on me. So for the first attempt I tried to merge the default Overland A380 Panel with PA Gauges which turned out like this:
Since it didn't turn out very well (because of AP Gauges, non-widescreen panel .bmp, etc.), I decided to create my own panel with a base from the Overland Panel which is previewed here:
If anyone (later when this is done to a .bmp) can help me get the gauges on the panel, that would be very helpful since I lack skill in creating panels. Thats all for now! I will try keep posting updates!

Re: [WIP] A380 2D Panel based on PA Gauges
- Thanks guys, well I do have FS Panel Studio its just that I might not have much time to be able to work on these stuff because of school but I will try my best, if anyone volunteers to help me especially with the gauges, please reply in this thread
*EDIT - btw the panel i'm working on is on a 16:10 ratio since my resolution is 1440x900, i think it should work on other screens but primarily widescreen.
- a quick important question to those who developed the VC, what font is used for the panel (font used in the buttons (TAXI, LS, AP1,etc) and the texts (CHRONO, SIDESTICK PRIORITY) and the ones used in (CSTR, NDB, VORD, etc). I could make the panel without these fonts but I just think it would be better to have it as accurate as it could

- Thanks Gary! anyway here I am after some hours and thought I might just post this since its getting late here (GMT +7) .
Im pretty happy with the text. For the NDB,etc. I ended up using a freeware font from Dafont called Bienvenu and for the buttons I used Microsoft Sans Serif. I'm also really happy about how the knobs turned out, but hopefully I could use my knobs instead of the ones provided in the gauge.

It's looking good for me, maybe a bit too much of 2D, but fine..I can't do better to be honest.

Very nice work! IIRC the font used for the VC was straight-up Arial/Helvetica.

Ok so I got the final Main Panel .bmp (ALMOST final), then I tested it out with some gauges, I replaced the WPT, VORD,etc buttons with mine and the Baro knob with mine. It worked fine and just needed some resizing. But when I loaded it up this happened:
My panel.cfg is

Re: [WIP] A380 2D Panel based on PA Gauges
WOW nice work dude!
I´ve been working on an A380 panel of my own, kinda a Frankenstein mix of some FSX A380 panel I got off Avsim for the main panel, and Ken Mitchell´s A340 Overhead, Throttles, EICAS and some gauges, also the CLS A340 Autopilot.
When PA released the VC for the A380 I tried adding the PFD and ND gauges with no luck, but I see you managed just fine.
Let me know if you need any help, I am not a gauge programmer, I am just like you putting up things on FSpanel.

I suppose you have permission from the authors of the originals to edit their bitmaps?

- @A330Driver - thanks! I might need help from u later
- @Alexis - are you talkin about the gauge or the panels? for the panel I suppose it is ok because I recreated it from scratch but for the gauge, I was just playing around with it to suit the panel, I will not release it until I get approval. Since you are on the same page, where/who do I ask for bitmap permission of the gauge? thx

Re: [WIP] A380 2D Panel based on PA Gauges
If it's your own bitmap, it's OK. Regarding the gauges, most authors include their e-mail address in the readme file. If it's not there, look for more panels from that guy on avsim/flightsim, in case you find the addy in another readme file.

That's the panel I've just downloaded. I will really try it. I had at first one from Renaldi. You can download him as well from the www.avsim.com.
