I can see these two quotes coming from another topic. Keep things tidy guys! To keep things on topic, I found some time to add gauges tonight. You can also see that there is VC rain there.dotsalgon wrote:Let the teacher cry as long as he want!s!
Re: 717
Stuff has been remodeled in the VC. Added seats (almost all of it), yokes and made some corrections:
I have also implemented the cabin's walls, wings, engines and a few seats. I want to add the rest of the seats but the trick doesn't want to work... The only cabin animation ATM are the trays that can be opened/closed.
Bad news is that the FD is crap all the way-the a/c is unflyable... If anyone has a good idea of how this stuff works, PM me.

Re: 717
I just found this project, and I must say it looks impressive! This is one of my favorite aircraft.
I'm glad somebody finally decided to model another 717, as it is severely lacking in the Flight Sim world!
I'm also glad to see this one will have a Virtual Cockpit.
Alexis, keep up the great work, cannot wait for the release!
I have some pictures of the 717 sitting around if you need any. Let me know!

Did some more minor stuff. I keep finding bugs, without much effort. That's not good, but they're being ironed out.
Here's another video I made yesterday, showcasing some wet animations (literally).

Just something to keep you occupied until the 380 comes around -and while the exams are closing in. :S

Great. I just thought I recognized it from FS2004. Haven't played it for a couple of years now. Keep the good work up!PAIRBUSBEST wrote:Hi, I will be doing the gauges. If you noticed correctly, the EICAS is not of the 777. That was made by me and is compatible with both FSX and FS2004 since it is XML. Just trust us

Re: 717
Looks great! I wasn't expecting a bathroom, but cool! However, the red beacon seems to be flashing inside the cabin which is a common problem in Virtual Cabins. Is there any way to avoid that in FS2004 or X?Alexis wrote:Did some more minor stuff. I keep finding bugs, without much effort. That's not good, but they're being ironed out.

I think the fx file can be defined to not be visible on the interior, but then it wouldn't illuminate the wings when it flashed.

I agree with Alexis on the photos. We need them. I especially would appreciate some detailed shots of the area near the engines. I feel like I'm losing sleep at the mere thought of texturing that area. :?

Re: 717
It's for the APU that's built into the tail, resulting in a hole for the air to flow to the mini turbine which then produces power (Electrical, Pneumatic, and limited hydraulics) to the aircraft. Its placement is very similar to the CRJ's.dotsalgon wrote:Do these help?

Re: 717
Just import the file 777-300.gau from the main FS2004 gauges folder in the main FSX gauges folder...it works all the sameInbreker wrote:Alexis, I think that the gauges you have in that cockpit are from the FS2004 B777 right? I don't know it for sure, but won't that mean you will need a complete new set of gauges for FSX? As I don't think the B777's are still included.

You are assuming he has both FS9 and FSX. However, don't worry.Thickfog wrote:Just import the file 777-300.gau from the main FS2004 gauges folder in the main FSX gauges folder...it works all the sameInbreker wrote:Alexis, I think that the gauges you have in that cockpit are from the FS2004 B777 right? If you were wondering whether I keep my promises or not, well, here's a proof.
Another page of the EICAS under heavy WIP.
I will try to do the PFD soon, but need to get acquainted with the mask images.
Till then, enjoy. Quote:
Thanks for the update PAIRBUSBEST.
I have one request for the FSX version (maybe the FS9 version also) since you are working on the cockpit instruments. For those of us that fly the VC, It would be nice to have at least a space to incorporate a basic FMC in the VC like Garrett Smith's Honeywell FMC. I already have it set up as a pop-up but incorporating it into the VC would be much more realistic and would move us one step closer to the real thing. I am by no means an interior model programmer but would it be possible to make the space where the FMC would go in the cockpit come with a dummy FMC (as usual for freeware) but allow replacement with a third party FMC of our choice. I have no payware aircraft and am happy with the basic VNAV functionality which Garrett's FMC provides.
If it's not too late, would it also be possible to get back with the rest of the Project Airbus group and include a spot for the FMC in the A380 VC also.
Thanks for the great work. We've needed a 717 with a functional VC for FSX for a long time.

Re: 717
Regarding the 717: it is planned. If Garett permits us to distribute it as well, it would be great -and with the FMC implemented. Else, I will have the FMC set up. That means you'll have to d/l the 717 and FMC separately, then edit the panel.cfg or use a ready one I'll make, so that it appears in place.fcerven wrote: I have one request for the FSX version (maybe the FS9 version also) since you are working on the cockpit instruments. Regarding the 380: Gary is not in PA, don't confuse the two projects. I am planning on implementing an FMC setup, so anyone who knows how to do it will be able to add an FMC gauge.
Re: 717
We were looking to replace some of our CRJ-700 routes with the 717 on our VA. However I had a question about the actual model of the 717-200 you were modeling. With the 717-200BGW, it can carry about 44,170 lb's however the 717-200HGW can carry 50,210 lb's which is a huge difference. I am not sure if there are any major model differences between the two, but more or less, which one are you modeling. The HGW or the BGW?

Re: 717
things like that are just done within the FDE most of the time. Its just simply changing weights around and adjusting to proper thrust if there is a difference. That is most of the time though. Some times there are actual differences between the variants in the plane itself (bigger tires for example). I dont believe the 717 has any of these differences and it was just simply an increase in weight and fuel capacity along with uprated engines.
As for ours Im not sure what alex is planning. Im Sure he will be able to tell you.
