Ive got that problem too but it happens very rarely. When the overhead goes like that i just stretch it and it stops happening. The VC however happened 2 times but it doesnt happen anymore

First, Many thanks for the amazing stuff you are providing Francois. A small problem with 'pa320fd_v3_302581' downloaded from Avsim. Ctrl+E will not start the engines - it only turns on the battery. The 'proper' manual start works fine but sometimes I'm lazy and need to fly quick :D I've tried re installing and even another download but still won't work. I have SP2 and FSUIPC4 ( non registered) installed. Other aircarft are starting with Ctrl+E ( Aerosoft Twin otter etc). If I save the flight with engines running, on reload the engines are off. Anything I can change ?

There a 2 possible reasons :

first possibility :
Before do a "CTRL+E", you must wait 5 to 10 seconds after the flight is loaded (ou can see the starter moves, the vor switches toggles or the screen turn off). This is because I have wrote a code to init the aircraft in "cold & dark situation", based on a temporisation, because, the start of the execution of the xml gauges are not synchronize at the the start of a flight. This init code work when the aircraft in on the ground; this is the reason why you save a flight with my aircraft on the ground and engines running, when you reload it, engines turn off. This is the price to pay to have a 100% cold & dark when the aircraft is on the ground.

The init code in flight is different; there is longer temporisation (10 to 15 seconds) to re-init the mach mode when the aircraft is above 25000 ft, because some weather software like ASE take many times before input their datas into FSX, and I need to wait that the meteo is stabilized before restore the mach mode.

Second possibility :
Your default flight in FSX is with an aircraft with the engines run. Create a flight with the aircraft of your choice, on the ground; When is loaded, turn off engines and all systems and save the flight by check the box "make this flight my default filght".

The problem must be solved.

Hi,

Here is the link to download the beta of the A320 with FMS :

https://rapidshare.com/files/2258366719/A320_FMS.zip

Be careful :
- this version is not completed : For the Perf Pages, only the takeoff and climb Perf pages work
- To open the gauge, click on the "master caution button" or press "MAJ+7" keys
- the flight plan edit tool work but it is not totally completed.

Be careful :
- The functions of the FCU (autopilot) Push-pull knobs (SPD, HDG,ALT) are inverted; They work now like the real aircraft :
-----PUSHED (knob darker) == FCU function is desactivated (default). If FMS is activated, FMS control the aircraft and readings of the FCU are "---" with a LED
---- PULLED (Knob lighter) == FCU function is armed/activated (deppend of the AP button). If FMS run, the FCU function keep the control !
Be careful with this new feature !!!!

I have realized a small user manual (very simple). Read it for start.
Before use the aircraft, you must install the module XMLVARS.dll (provide in the package) of tom Aguilo. I use it with the permission of Tom. See in the xmlvarsdll folder of the package, there is a pdf file with the instruction to install this dll and how declare it to FSX (you must edit and modify the dll.xml file of FSX ).

Your attention please,

This aircraft is not finished. So if you want just a plane for fun, it is useless to download. I still have a lot of work to complete all functions and systems.

The goal is to help me to find bugs and tell me your opinion on the work already accomplished.

In short, I need a beta-testers, who can feedback me errors with the precise circumstances. This takes work and strictness.

If you are satisfied with this work, there is a possibility that this FMS is integrated in the future A330 with HD displays.

Thank you very much

Francois

Click on the box where you want enter or change a value : The lines of this box become green : You can enter your value with the gauge's keyboard then click again on the box or on an other box to validate.

You can change the value of a box when his rectangle lines are green (except for flaps or other preset boxes).

Have you install the xmlvars.dll and modify the dll.xml file like is describe in the readme pdf file of Tom Aguilo ? (look at in the XMLVARSdll folder in the package).

You must copy this dll in FSX main folder and edit the dll.xml file of FSX to add a section to declare this dll.

Normally, if you have made the things correctly, when you have launch FSX, it has asked to you to accept this new Dll. have you got this message ?

Without this dll, your gauge cannot woks. This dll is to manipulate string in xml code. All the data enter in the FMS use this dll.

You must add the following section in your dll.xml file, at the end of the file, just before "</SimBase.Document>" :

Code: Select all

<Launch.Addon>
		<Name>XMLVars</Name>
		<Disabled>False</Disabled>
		<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
		<Path>XMLVars.dll</Path>
		<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
		<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

If you have windows XP (my case), the path is :

C:\Documents and Settings\ YOUR USER NAME \Application Data\Microsoft\FSX

if you have Vista or Seven, the path must be :

C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\

FSX cannnot work without dll.xml. You have this ffile; Make a search with the file explorer.

Edit : YOur main FSX folder must be in : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\ or something like this.

Hi Francois!
The (beta)FMS and the black display background look amazing, but I can't activate the Auto-throttle. Maybe you can change the autopilot numbers from white to red like a real Airbus 320 if this is possible?

The throttles levers must not be at zero to activate A/THR. if you set your throttles under 2%, A/THR is disabled. And you must be in selected mode by pulled the SPD knob.

In a real airbus, when you back your throttles to 0, A/THR is disabled. I have simulate this function.

Try to launch FSX with the aircraft. If you cannot write in the FMS box, check step by step the installation of this dll. You should have forget a step.

Post herethe extract of your dll.xml file where I see the new inserted section .

You must place it at the end of the file. and it must have the "/" to close the tag.

Your file must be like this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

I have found some bugs :

- MAch mode in selected mode on the FCU doesn't work above convergence altitude : Problem is solved
- ALT ( instead of CLB) reading on the FMA, in some case appears in SRS mode at takeoff : problem is solved
- If takeoff with ILS mode (name of the runway and ILS frequency entered in the FMS), after takeoff, the autopilot doesn't toggle from HDG mode to NAV mode : Problem is solved
- When the aircraft reaches his Cruise altitude under FMS, the aircraft altitude waves : you must toggle in selected altitude hold : the problem is solved
- you can engage the selected ALT mode when the aircraft is on the ground : problem is solved; ALT mode will work only when airborne.

I continue to look for errors the work already done before continuing the development of the gauge and I will post an updated panel with bugs corrected at the end of the week.

I can not continue development (page cruize, descent approach), while there are still errors or bugs in this first part.

Please, report me if you find errors or malfunction.

So I need also your opinion about the gauge (look, functions ecetera.....).

- For example, would you prefer that some default values are already entered into the FMS, or do you prefer that all data be 0 initially ?
- What is your opinion about the flight plan edit tool ? Have you understant how it works ?

Please, give me some feedback to help me in my works. I need you !

Hallo Francois,
I tested the Aircraft and it looks very good. But it dont like the new autopilot so much. For example when i avtivate the Speed autopilot, the selected speed is autumatically reset to the speed that i fly in this moment. The fms looks very good but i dont know how the flight plan tool works because I cant click on "flt plan" in the FMS. And maybe you can change the Autopilot Numbers from white to red like a real Airbus (http://i.pbase.com/u45/turbinedux/large ... 79copy.jpg)
Your A320 is still the best Freeware Aircraft ;)

Ok, I will change the color of the FCU's readings in Amber.

To edit the flight plan, select Departure or Arrival page to create SID and STAR.

The flight plan page is not yet active. It will allow to save flight edited flight plan.

Edit : Is the baro reading is also amber ?

Sorry, but I have no choice. You must create your own SID and STAR with the flight plan edit tool (Page "Departure" and ARRIVAL").

Why ? Because, I havn't navaids database that I Can use. All the payware use their own navaids database, but it would take me years to build it alone. if several dozen members are ready to form a working group and build the database, then the SID and STAR will be recorded in the FMS.
I work 4 to 5 hours / day on the gauge, to build the verticale navigation part of this FMS. It is not a easy thing,

VASFMC had began to build its own database, but for some big airports only and It hasn't create VNAV function for its FMS.

The only navaids database which that we can access is the AIRAC cycle files, but they are payware and I don't know how to read the files.

So, the only solution that I had, it was to use the FSX GPS waypoints database, that hasn't SID and STAR. This is the reason why you must build them. So, I found that is pleasant to create it. You can found on the net, all the airport charts with the SID and STAR, and in the most case, the waypoints fo the real life are in the FSX database. (Thre is more than 100 000 waypoints in the FSX GPS database).

By cons, the FSX GPS database has real waypoints and has approachs, that will be managed by the gauge (RNAV or vector to final).

And when the gauge will be completed, you will have the possibility to save your edited flight plan in the FSX pln format file. So, with the time, you'll buid your own navaids database.

I am alone for this job, and I cannot do the work of 50 workers.

I'm not sure if this will help with the database but you could try contacting Tim Arnott (plan-G): http://www.tasoftware.co.uk/

I had just go to create an account on navigraph to see.

The data are not free. You must pay. I know, the price is ridiculous, but I am a freeware knight. I prefer create my SID/STAR than paid it. And the simmer who want a real FMS buy a PMDG, and not use a freeware.

The second problem is for you use these datas. My code use the GPS macro of the xml code of FSX to follow the flight plan.

To use a navaid file, you must write all the code for the navigation, and the xml is too limited for that; I think that you must write your code in C or C++. It is out of my knowledge. I have learn the xml alone, 8 month ago; I am a beginner and I do only that I can do. I would never have the level of a aerosoft or PMDG programmer. And I think that's more funny to create your own departure or approach rather than press a button to load a ready to use flight plan. Also, my priority was to create the VNAV function.
For the verticale navigation, I had to create my own PID controlers, because the FSX autopilot cannot work at constant thrust/variable pitch. To create and adjust these PIDS, I have past 3 months !! All this work takes very much time ! And I have no feedback about this work. Sometimes I'm a little discouraged

Sorry, but I can't do better.
