- LFMT - Montpellier - Méditérranée : By Jean-pierre Varnier : STAR and approaches added

New airport :
- LGAV - Athens Eleftherios Venizelos -GREECE by Fdd_fr : SID , STAR and approaches, with speed constraint liniked to wayppoints on some SID, and DME-Arc on STAR

You can download this airport on the FreeNav DB group Website : FD-FMC website

All this airports require the panel 0.60 or higher and the last AIRAC of graham Mitchell : AIRAC0505213.zip

Airports are online :

ESSA - Stockholm Arlanda, compatible Aerosoft mega-airport

LFRG - Deauville by Jean-pierre78

one airport updated (improved SID with speed constraint for initial turns)

EVRA - Riga Intl

3 airports are online, separatelly, but the complete file "FD_FMC.zip" hasn't been updated for the moment. You must download them one by one

I don't know why, but ESSA doesn't appears in the english page.

The french page works; You can download it here : http://www.db-online.fr/dbonline/?page_id=1356

May be the other update works only on the french version of the website. Staay in the french version. I will send a message to my friend bertrand who manage the website about this bug.

Hi,

Some new airports and updates

- LFTH Toulon-Hyères le Palyvestre, by Jean-pierre78 (SID/STAR/Approaches)
- Update of EVRA Riga Latvia, because some SID had errors

New airport : EFHK - Helsinki Vantaa (SID/STAR/Approaches) ful compatibility with Aerosoft Mega Airport Scenery.

These updates are accompanied by an update panel version 0.65, which fixes errors in tracking speed constraints related to waypoints in the SID. The problem is now resolved, and it brings lots of new and further correction. See the topic of the FD-FMC project.

Now, there are 64 aiports : Link to downlaod here : Airport database

FD_FMC.zip is the whole database updated or you can download by country. I have updated the PFD list file.

Nota : LFTH, Hyère le Palyvestre : FSX stock Afcad is not right (Heading of the runways 14/32 is today 13/31) and there is no ILS in the Stock FSX version

If someone who know how use ADE and adapt the AFCAD, there will be nice ! (I can give all the charts and informations

Next airports will be the STAR and Approach for the german existing airports of the database and after, I will try to realize the FTX/ORBX airports and airports where there is a existing commercial scenery.

AirbusFan, I am working on LOWI - Innsbruck.
This airport is very dangerous ! Approach needs precision and the FMC files must be perfect, so I do many test.

Here is my first happy landing on the runway 26 :

Very important, you will be at the right altitude at the IAF waypoint (do an holding pattern if you arrive to high)

NDB RTT holding pattern, managed by the FMC
Image

End of the holding pattern, FMC toggle to the approach
Image

valley is very narrow !
Image

ND radar show the high mountains around
Image

in final
Image

bad surprise : ILS is not in the runway axis ! I must disengage the AP and drive in manual
Image

But landing is a success
Image

I must test now the second IAF and approach, that have a narrow 180° turn, just before landing ! good vibration I hope !

I hope that I will post LOWI this weekend

I will post LOWI sunday; I have completed my tests.

Here is the STAR BRENO 2B, to land on runway 26. This STAR is normally only for CAT A or CAT B aircrafts (A320 is a CAT C), because the final turn must be do with a high bank and low speed; But I have tested with the A320 and the turn is OK.

A bigger aircraft cannot do the same thing.

LOWI is available on the FreeNav DB group (direct link to download : LOWI Innsbruck

Requires the Panel 0.65 and the small patch. I am working to improve the descent path in SPEED mode to a better angle.

This airport is for good pilots :

Please note :
=============
- No STAR and approach for the runway 08 (as the offical AIP Charts)
- STAR with KTI transition ( BRENO 2B and ELMEN 1A ) are dedicated to CAT A & B aircraft.
But I have tried to land with the A320 (Cat C) and it is possible.

Runway ILS 26 is not in the runway axis : ALL the final approachs must be do in manual

Tested with :

Hi,

Update of Paris - Orly - LFPO : Paris Orly - LFPO updated with approachs added now Approach data.

- Fix some errors in Speed and altitude of some STAR
- Add speed constraint to some SID
- Add approachs

Nota : Runway 08 has a LOC approach that will totally work with the next update of the panel (0.66). I complete my final tests and I hope upload this new panel before tomorrow.

All the data of this LFPO are compatible with MegaAirport ORLY Aérosoft scenery, except the LOC 08 , because I can't access to to the LOC frequency with this addon. So, you must tune the radio manually on the VOR frequency with the Aerosoft addon

I finish the panel 0.66 and I will post LPMA Madeira, in to versions : on for FSX alone, and one for the aerosoft Scenery (airport altitude is different in the 2 cases)

Many problems with LPMA.

The final turn to the Runway 05 is very difficult. The FSX GPS jump to the next waypoint before reach it, so I can't locate the FIX according the real chart.

Second problem : The stock FSX LPMA has a wrong altitude of 700ft; the real altitude is 171ft.

I have FS Global 2010, and I have a big bug, because, the AFCADof FS global set the airport altitude at the right value, but the terrain is not flatten ! Airport is inside the mountain !!!!

see :

Image

Image

So I can't create the approach for the Stock fsx BGL. The first version of LPMA will be only for the Aerosoft addon Madeira X that havn't this problem and has the real altitude and terrain :

Re: SID/STAR/APPROACH free Database Project

Hello,

2 news today :

1 - LOWI Innsbruck airport update. The first version had bug in SID (thanks to airbusfan to find them). errors were on the name of some waypoints (EOJ for OEJ and KUGOL for KOGOL). As these STAR were speed constraint according waypoints, when the name of the waypoint was false, the waypoint wasn't created and the speed constraint was not cancelled.
I think that all the bugs are fixed

LOWI - Innsbruck update v3.01 : LOWI - Innsbruck 3.01

2 - LPMA - Madeira ; Here, some difficulties.
By default, LPMA airport has a wrong altitude in FSX with a big error : 711 feet (in real life, this is 170 feet), I must create 2 versions of the approach file and the STAR file , because, with some addons (FS GLOBAL 2010 or Aerosoft Madeira X), the airport is set to the real altitude (170 feet).

In the LPMA zip file, you will find 3 subfolders. You must check before the altitude of LPMA in your FSX.
These 3 subfolders are called :
- AP_170ft_elevation
- AP_711ft_elevation
- Waypoint BGL

The first 2 folders include "STAR_data.csv" and "ABUSU.csv" files. Copy these the 2 files according your airport altitude in the parent folder LPMA. Without this operation, the FMC can use STAR and approachs

Other problem : d'Aerosoft "Madeira X" addon cancel the owner waypoints of the stock AFCAD file of LPMA (because aerosoft tell at the users, to desactivate the FSX AFCAD ( file APX43200.BGL located in the 502 folder of "Scenery").to avoid graphics bugs.

So I must create a specific BGL file to restore this waypoints.

This file, called "LPMA_wpt.BGL", is in the "Waypoint BGL" folder of the LPMA ZIP file. You must copy this file in the FSX "\Addon Scenery\Scenery\" folder (the folder which contain the Graham Mitchell's AIRAC).

Sorry for the complexity.

Link to download LPMA : LPMA - Madeire (version 170 feet and 711 feet )

Hi,

I tested 185Kts for the straight left/right turn on LOWI. It's much better than 215Kts, because at 215, my aircraft flies way to close to the mountain. But with 185, everything was Ok.

*EDIT: Now I have strange thing ( 2nd time ). When I'm near my cruizing altitude (FL360), on PFD instead of CRZ ALT I have ALT*, and after I reach FL360, it applies to MACH and CRZ ALT, BUT then I have DECELERATE flashing... To my destination is 659nm...

Hi airbusfan,

Thanks for your tests on LOWI. I will change the value to 185 knots for the turns.

For the second problem, I think at an error in the STAR file. Can you tell me your destination airport and the name of the STAR ?

I try to be less distret and go slower to make the airports files. But it is difficult alone to test all SID / STAR, which is why your feedback is very important !

I am currently working on a new version of KPDX - Portland, which contained errors, and I update it with the last AIP charts and adding approaches.

EDIT : when you have an strange behavior or an error in the FMC, It will be good to take a screenshot in the 2D panel to seee the value of my debug gauge (but you may perharps activate this gauge in the panel.cfg file by delete the "//" at the begining of the line Gauge22=A320_FMS!Debug, 1,1,600,200 in the [WINDOW00] section. With the information in red color , I can find more easily errors.

MY destination was EIDW Dublin, Ireland. STAR - 28 LIPGO 1X LAPMO.

But I noticed other thing in EIDW STARS. In some of them waypoints are messed up. I mean like in this STAR 28 LIPGO 1L LAPMO :

Image

I think it's not normal. On the charts I didin't saw this. I'm not often flying to EIDW, so that's why I saw this thing just now.

If all is Ok, I will post this weekend several updates and news.

- EIDW Dublin with the STAR fixed (Waypoint DW815 missplaced)
- A new version of KPDX Portland, with updated FAA charts and now with all the Approaches (ILS,LOC and RNAV)
- Maybe KLAX - Los Angeles (I have completed and tested SID, it remains to me to make STAR and approaches)
- LEBL - Barcelona El Prat - SPAIN completed (SID/STAR and approaches) by Mr51
- LFBP - Pau Pyrennee , completed by Jean-pierre Varnier

Airbusfan, can you tell me where is your speed problem in LOWI ? In STAR or Approach ? I will correct at the same time.

And there will be an update of the panel.

Hello,

The problem is on take off ( SID ). Instead of 215Kts, 180-185Kts is much better ( this is for steep left/right turns ). But for straight take off ( without these turns ), in my opinion speed constraint isn't needed.

LFBP - Pau Pyrénnée Now completed with SID/STAR/Approaches , realized by Jean-pierre78

LOWI - Innsbruck new lower Speed in SIDs, to avoid to crash on the mountain during the initial turn :D Thanks Airbusfan

EIDW - Dublin Ireland fixed a waypoint missplaced in 4 STAR

Some US airports had wrong name file in thier folder; So I have corrected them and you can downlaod again (KMSO, KBWI, KSEA ......

I have updated the ZiP file with all the database :
----------------------------------------------------------
Full database 70 airports FD_FMC november 30 2013

Here is the link to download the PDF file listing of the airports : Airports list FD_FMC

Updates :
KSLC - Salt Lake City all the runway 35 SID had an error : fixed

KLAX - Los Angeles Intl full now, in version 3.10, with all STAR and Approaches. I havn't test all because too much work so maybe error expected (100 SID, 58 STAR, near of 40 approaches) .

I have posted also, all the KLAX files (charts, EXCEL input file, and final CSV files in one package), to give a sample of my interpretation of the US charts.
KLAX complete set of files with charts

I am working on the update of the panel, to fix some bug and errors in the SPEED/MACH mode.....I will post it faster I can.

Next airports will be

- PAKT - Ketchikan in Alaska, will work with the beautiful ORBX Scenery

and

KASE - Aspen county/Sardy in the Colorado - USA, compatible with the Aerosoft Scenery.

Airbusfan, you who like dangerous airports, KASE will be a good challenge for you; It is one of the most dangerous airport.

My first test, with a RNAV approach and a manual final (no ILS on this Airport, only a Localizer)

Yes but there is a problem; There is 2 LOC frequencies on this airport. One for "Go Around" procedure (LOC in the South), for a back course track with a freqency of 108.50 Mhz and one for landing guidance, near the runway axis (frequencie 111.15 Mhz).

So, with the FSX default scenery or the Aerosoft Aspen X scenery, when my XML code use the macro to get the runway 15 frequency, FSX return to me the frequencie of the back course LOC. I must find a solution (insert in the approach file the right frequencie) and write new code to avoid this type of FSX bug.

So, for the moment, I completed a new airport :

PAKT - Ketchikan - Alska USA

- full working with "Pacific Fjord" and "Ketchikan Airport" sceneries from ORBX/FTX

Hi,

I found the solution "to force" an ILS or LOC frequency, in the case like KASE airport, where FSX send to my FMC the wrong LOC . I think that this solution can be use for some addons (I think to LFPO Mega Aiport Orly from Aerosoft, where the runway 08 LOC frequency is not send by FSX).

In the aproaches files, in the second column, where is written the approach type (ILS, LOC, RNAV ..), I add the frequency to the type. I have changed the FMC XML code , and if the FMC read a frequency attached to the type, he does not search in the AFCAD file.

Sample :

To KASE, FSX send to my FMC, for the runway 15, frequency 108.50, that is the fraquency of the second LOC used for the back course Go-around.

Here is the special synthax for these cases, to force a specific frequency:

Image

It is very important to respect the synthax : LOC-115. or ILS-111.40 : always a "-" without space, and the frequency with 2 decimals and only if you want use a specific frequency.
In 99,9% of case, you must not write that : If the frequency returned by FSX is correct, you write ILS or LOC only; FMC get the frequency for you.

Result in the FMC :

Image

The user frequency is set to the radio.

Problem fixed.

I will update the LFPO files, for the Aerosoft user scenery, and the runway 08 LOC will be available now.

I will post KASE and update of LFPO in the same time of the new version of the panel, with this new code.

Hi,

New airport : KASE ASPEN Co/Sardy, in the Rocky Mountains : KASE - ASPEN Co/Sardy - Colorado USA

Read the text file in the airport folder. Require panel 0.68 that I have posted in the FD_FMC thread, because this airport use a new function of the FMC to force an ILS or LOC frequency in the radio NAV1.

Full compatible with Aspen X aerosoft scenery

This aiport is only for experiment pilot, because final approach is in full manual, with a high descent path angle (spoiler must be used) and because airport is at very high altitude (7900 feet) with dangerous mountains around !!!
