Re: Project FMC simplified for Project Airbus

Post by zaflyer »

Hi Wulf...Well, I had created folders in my main FSX Airplanes section inadvertently (I use F: Drive for my PA Airbuses..always worked OK) I thought, great' problem solved..but no. I deleted them. Here's the contents of the Panel.cfg. Apologies for missing it. Again, this is really odd.
Thanks
ZA

The panel.cfg content looks ok for me. So I recommend to recheck your driver allocation issue mentioned above. I always install all my scenery addons and add. aircraft directly into the FSX folder. Otherwise there might be registration conflicts.

I'll keep you posted as to when I finally crack this....As Tanya Wilcox once sang.."It's mystery..."

This is very curious, because MFD and upper ECAM are very classic XML gauge (no needs of external DLL). So, I don't see why you get this problem !!

Same issue in VC ?

New airports are online : http://freenavdbgroup.com/?p=1215

New airports :

EGLC - London City Airport - UNITED KINGDOM by francois Dore : version for FSX/P3D stock airport
EGLC - London City Airport - UNITED KINGDOM by francois Dore : version for updated AFCAD or addon scenery with new runway designator
ENML - Molde/Aro - NORWAY by Philippe Bronier : provided with an AFCAD which add missing ILS
KMDW - Chicago Midway Intl - USA (Illinois) by francois Dore
LUKK - Chisinau Intl - MOLDAVIA by Philippe Bronier
RJCC - New Chitose Sapporo intl - JAPAN by francois Dore
UDYZ - Zvartnots - ARMENIA by Georges

please, note that EGLC has very high glide path profil (5.5°) : don't use autoland feature ! So in real life, this airport is reserved to small jet aircraft (category B and C) except BAE146 which is authorized. But you can take off and landing with A318/A319.
Caution : short runway and very high glide path angle ! no autoland please !!

Airports updated or fixed : January 2, 2017

KBUR 4.01 - Burbank Bob Hope - USA (California) by Wulf Bindewald
KVNY 4.01 - Van Nuys Intl - USA (California) by Wulf Bindewald

Hello,

All panels (v1.55) are completed (with all bug fixed, I hope) : A318 A319 A320 and A321. Wulf has wrote the last TOD formula for A319.

So, I will prepare during the week the four packages + one full pack with all aircrafts and I will upload them to AVSIM library friday.

So, I hope that definitive aircrafts will be available next Saturday.

Then see where it gets me. I'll try to get the basics working first

Hi There..
Well did a complete new install into my main FSX folder...Still not working..I'm concerned I've got a fundamental problem in my FSX. This is very odd, as it was OK before I tried to update the panel. :/
Thanks guys for your efforts

Hi Wulf..
Thanks for getting back...Yep.. The default looks fine. I've not touched that. As is. (default) I'm wondering about the XML Tools.zip. I've got 'XML Tools DLL file in the main folder (FSX) There's another folder 'XML Tools' with a list of 'XML Documents in it..The other folder which is confusing is the C++ Redistr. Have they got anything to do with this problem?
Thanks

There should be only one XMLTools.dll file reside in the FSX root folder.
Maybe the "XMLTools" folder in the installer under "Modulus_required" is the content from the XMLTools.dll file and as such for info.

I've only got the XML Tools .dll in the main FSX folder...I checked the A320FD-FMC .cab file and it's this version:

Hello Zaflyer,

I think that XMLTools is not a problem, because XMLTools is required only by FMC gauges. PFD, ND and ECAMS can works without XMLTools.

Wait until next weekend. Final panel will be available with full pack for each aircraft (A318, A19, A320, A321).

I think that the best way for you will be to delete all previous version and install the new packs 1.55 with the setup program.

Good day, I need some help with the project airbus (sorry for my bad English). I downloaded A318 and 321 and all two planes run and fly perfectly in my PC (there are fantastic planes!). But my problem is I can´t work with FMC. It is impossible to entry waypoints into the route, I followed step by step the manual and I think I completed all process (airac, xmltolls.dll, dll.xml, airports list, etc). The problem is when I try to entry a wp into the route, the FMC doesn´t accept any entry, nor RTE-fix, OWR-fix nor ND (the name that I wote disappear when I push button ADD , and strange: it is accept only VOR (!). The same is when I try to enter a SID (is the airport have a SID) in the DEPART screen, in the FMC appear then all the information about the SID, I select it one and I can see down all waypoints for the terminal, but when I push ADD SID (or ADD STAR) the program only accepts one or two waypoints and doesn’t completed the terminal route.
I had try out many things, but I can´t fix the problem (despair). I have windows 7, I build flight plans with FSCommander and then I save it in FSX format file (*pnl), FMC recognize the plan loaded without problem, but then I can´t add any new waypoints, except VOR (?), although it is accept DELETE any waypoints.
I´ll to appreciate any help for this topic.
Many thanks
Rosendo

Hello Rosendo,

Very curious; I don't see the reason of this strange bug.

- If when you add a SID, you have only some waypoints added, check if you have placed the AIRAC file in the right folder ("\Addon Scenery\Scenery\").

- Have you installed a third party waypoint database or changed the FSX stock files ?

- When you try to enter a waypoint with the FMC keyboard, do you think to select in first a position in the flight plan with the "#" key ?

- maybe waypoints that you try to enter have not the ICAO region code that you think. Your airport is near a boundary ?

- make a screenshot of the FMC just when you have enter your waypoint before click to add, and post here the picture.

About aircrafts pack, sorry, there will be delayed to next weekend, because I found a bug in the approach mode if sleected altitude is used.

So, with a proposal of wulf, I added the TOD announcement on the bottom left corner of the ND, when the TOD is the next "waypoint/step" in cruise mode.

But I promise you, all full aircrafts packs will be available for christmass. ;)

Ohhh! Thank you very much for your help. I can solve the problem, very easy to fix but not easy to find. The solution was in your first question: “have you installed a third party waypoint database or changed the FSX stock files?”
Well, YES, one month ago I loaded (updated) navaids and ILS with SORS, web “Flight Simulator aircraft dynamic and navdate”. I use the automatic installer application BUT I FORGOT to place the bgl file (worldINT.bgl) in the folder /addon scenery/scenery. This was the BIG PROBLEM, the reason why I can fix FD-FMC, why I can´t added any waypoint into the flight plan and why SID and STAR doesn´t recognize some waypoints.
Now all is perfect and I can to fly that fantastic (work) planes.
Thank very much
Best regards,
Rosendo

Hello,

As I promised, I prepare the final packs for all aircraft.

Before upload on AVSIM library, I prepared the A318 pack. But I want to be sure that I haven't missing something, so if someone who have never installed one of these aircraft (FD-FMC version) can test this pack to know if all is ok ?

Pack include an auto-installer (for FSX only).

Installer do :
- install aircraft
- install DLL's
- add in dll.xml file the XMLTools declaration (if it doesn't exist already) and create a backup of dll.xml before change
- copy all sounds,gauges, effects
- copy Freenav AIRAC
- copy airport database (optional now !) : if user want to not overwrite his FD-FMC airport database, now it can jump this step with new installer.
- create the FMC_path.ini file

In case of airport overwrite database, check that all the FD_FMC folder has not a subfolder "read only".

FD-FMC is final version 1.55
It include new VC by Bjoern Kesten, new HD textures by CokiBH (with 2 night set : orange and white).

Other users, please wait the AVSIM version, because my website has a limited bandwidth and this is a 200 Mo file. But if someone that have already the aircraft can download to test, it will be appreciated.

But this pack will have a new folder name, so previous aircraft will be not overwrited. You will have to delete it.

link to download A318 FD-FMC 1.55 : http://freenavdbgroup.com/Temp/PA_A318F ... M.1.55.zip

When I will get feedback about the pack, I will upload all packs (A318, A319, A320, A321 and a full pack with all aircrafts) on AVSIM library.

Thanks for feedback

Francois

The instaler won't execute and the gauges like PFD, ND and other cockpit instruments are not showing up.

No.

I'm also officially cancelling all further work on the model. For the last weeks, I have tried to remodel the entire sidewall to match the cockpit to the A320's windows and it's just too frustrating to go on. There are absolutely no consistent and/or detailed reference images of the area out there and the shapes are a nightmare. My time is just too precious to be wasted on this. Sorry, guys.

Didn't Bjoern do that already?

Edit: Nevermind, I thought it was Francois who wrote what I quoted from Bjoern.

Hi Francois,
I gave it a try on my system and after selecting "install" I get the message : Run-time error '76' - Path not found.
Tried from my desktop but no joy either. :(

Hi Francois..
I ran the programme and it seemed OK. Except, I've still got the same problem as with my previous one...The top half of the panel is 'dead.' So. I can deduce that the installer worked for me..But it didn't solve my initial problem...(which I was hoping for) Don't worry 'bout that though. Enough on your plate to be busy with.
Thanks

Curious ! Have you moved your FSX ?

I forgot to say that this installer works only with Microsoft FSX. It cennot work with FSX Steam edition or P3D.

I don't understand why program works on some computer and not on others.... :/

Thanks for test

I downloaded a318 and panel FD-FMC 1.521 from Free Nav DB Group because I did not have A318 downloaded.
I installed a318 manual and then run panel uptade. No errors in installer smooth install like others programs and then just copy FltSim.xx sections
to "Aircraft.cfg update panel.1.521" and renamed this file in "aircraft.cfg".I run game and there are not black screens or something seems to work fine.

Francois try to put browse path in installer and make default path for win7 and xp.For other users of FSX like steam let them chose their FSX main path. Its easy to do in installer.Just give Fsx main path and in installer add folders Gauge, simobjects and sound you know what I am saying if you make program.
Also if you put installer in C:/ some players might have it in D:/ or something similar maybe they renamed hard drive.I am not expert about it but try to do these things I recommend you.

You are right. I can add a dialog box to choose paths; but I think that many user don't know the path of DLL.XML file. Today, I get the path by a Win Register key.

I will see tonight if I can add easily dialog box to chose and force all paths .

Thanks for feedback

Yes I'm using FSX2+Acceleration and running in Windows 10. FSX is installed on it's own drive but the installer does find it. I've tried running the installer from c: directory, from the desktop and from fsx directory but always the same result.

HI Francois...
I've just done a 're initiation' of FSX to try and gt rid of bugs..Still not sorted out. As for DX10 I don't seem to get it on my settings..I'm running:

NVIDIA GeForce7600 GS and a Pentium Dual Core CPU (Can't get NVIDIA Inspector to work either...(that's another issue) W7.
So, not sure :/

Ok. Maybe Win 10 use another regester key system......

I will add drive/folder dialog box to get the capability to enter application path during installation if setup doesn't find correct paths. :)

Good news ! If no SID/STAR, check dll.xml file to know if XMLTools.dll is correctly declared.

XMLTools.dll must be placed in the main FSX directory.

If the dll is correctly declared, you must have a line "XMLTools.dll" in the [Trusted] section on FSX.cfg file.

Good to hear that you have sorted it out.
A320: The latest and available aircraft and panel release V1.52.1 can be directly downloaded from the freenavdbgroup.com, but I strongly recommend to wait a couple of days. Francois is now preparing the A318, A319, A320 and A321 final installer with all the latest features and bugfixes.
