A380 2D cockpit
Hi all, just downloaded the Project Airbus A380 from AVSIM. A bit disappointed with the default B747 2D panel. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good A380 panel out there that I can use until the VC is completed by PA?
Regards,
Matt

Re: A380 Virtual cockpit previews
Is there a good 2D panel out there anywhere for the A380? I find it spoils my experience using the PA A380 with the default 747 panel

Re: A380 2D cockpit
Not necessarily an A380 panel, but a modified A321 panel to work for an A340...at least in FSX as far as I know, as there's a merging tutorial for TRuth's A340 panel and VC and the PA380, but dunno about FS9 (probably Overland's A380 panel that, once upon a time, was included in an A380 package somewhere, someplace, but probably and hopefully removed now).

I've the A340 panel of the Thomas Ruth freeware planes. I think it's worth to try

Is there a way to make the Overland A380 panel for FS9 work with the PA A380 in FS9?

What kind of problems are you having with it?

Re: A380 2D cockpit
Haven't tried yet. That's why I was asking, cos I wanted to know if someone has already merged the 2D and or VC from the Overland A380 with the PA A380 and if they have, could they show how to do so.

Re: A380 2D cockpit
The overland a380 is an Fs9 model, and therefore the VC cannot be merged over. Merging VC's can only be done with two True native FSX models. In this case the PA a380 has got an FSX model available but the overland has not.

Re: A380 2D cockpit
I wasn't asking about taking something from FS9 and merging it in FSX. I was asking about an FS9 - FS9 merge.

Re: A380 2D cockpit
thats still not possible, its only fsx models which can be merged with fsx models

Re: A380 2D cockpit
I don't think you're understanding what I am saying. I want to take the 2D and/or VC panels of the Overland A380 for FS9 and put it into the Project Airbus A380 for FS9. There's no FSX in this equation whatsoever, ok?
Re: A380 2D cockpit
You can't merge the VC. You can alias the panel

Re: A380 2D cockpit
Okay, are you able to tell me how to alias the panel?
Re: A380 2D cockpit
Create a text file 'panel.cfg' in the panel folder containing
[1] The root is the 'Aircraft' folder; if the Overland A380's panel folder is 'panel' inside 'OverlandA380', inside the 'Aircraft' folder, it'll be
Code: Select all
[fltsim]
alias=<path to the Overland A380's panel folder [1]>
Code: Select all
OverlandA380/panel
Re: A380 2D cockpit
or if that's too difficult for you, copy the panel folder from the overland to the project airbus A380
