A80 VC with FSX

Post by Srilanka »

I tried to make the A380 vc work in fsx but i failed!

FSX crashes once i selected the aircraft..The thing is that i took the vc model from the model folder and merged the A380vc with a native Project Airbus A380 model...Copied every file needed...Also when i delete the Interior model string in the model.cfg ..The A380 seems to load..Is there any problem with the model?

No there's not. The 380 VC is a complete model not something you should merge.

The A380 VC is actually quite good in FSX, it doesn't run slowly at all.

BUT :
1- the AP is getting disconnected all the time
2- black rectangles are displaying over switch buttons and HDG/SPD/ALT selectors
3- I've not been able to lock ALT to make the A380 climb by itself (may be related to point 1)
4- Nothing displayed in the E/WD
5- Only a small rectangle in the center of the left and right ECAM screens is displayed

...all the rest is very impressive (keyboard, solar screens (? gotta open my english dictionary...) animations, etc.). I'm really looking forward to see the FSX adaptation, but I was so happy to be already able to play with it ;)

OK guys, let me explain a bit.

Hope that everyone enjoyed the FBW that we made in XML. It was done to the ultimate of my knowledge in XML and hope that you'll soon get acquainted to it.

Now, the FBW is reliant on the AP, that is, you move the stick, and the AP keeps that position.

SO !

In order for you to be able to move the aircraft, the AP must disengage, will engage once you leave the stick.

There is the AP DISC sound associated to the AP when it gets disconnected so that's the main reason.

Now, once we get onto the FSX version, we'll get onto it asap.

If you want to disable that sound because it's annoying, go to the sound.cfg, if it is aliased, see the aliased file.

Search for the entry

Code: Select all

[AP_DISENGAGE_SOUND]
Search for the entry:

Code: Select all

maximum_volume=9000

change the number to 100

the sound should stop.

This will be a temporary fix.

That means you'll do a fsx native mdl? :?:
Sorry I'm a little confused. :?

We're considering converting the VC to FSX. For now, we need a break. :)
