A380 trim display in VC and ILS landing Procedure?

Post by Dillon » 20 Aug 2011, 12:35

First off thanks for the outstanding A380 VC model, I have two lingering issues so far:

1. In the VC I can't find the trim display where I can tell how much trim I have going to the horizontal stabilizer.

2. What do I activate in the VC to allow the aircraft to do a proper ILS approach? I've hunted for switches but seem to be doing something wrong because the plane won't capture the ILS.

There is an LS button under the barometric alt setting. Make sure FD is on, AP active and click on LS.

I have problems with APPR button too. To make the plane follow the glide slop I have to insert the command by keyboard.

How about add a 2D panel to it and use that APPR instead? That's what I'm doing. ;)

Nothing is working for me. I'm not even getting the ILS bars on the PFD screen.

see that nob beside the LS switch? click minus until you see the vertical-whatever-it's-called. I don't think you can get it on the PFD but I can be wrong. I'm doing a flight atm so I will tell you in half an hour

I got the APPR button to work, there is only a millimeter or two you can click to activate it.

I got a problem with the ILS procedure, too. Where can I type in the course of the runway?

ok guys I'm so desperate right now!

I've been trying to do an ILS landing with the A380 VC the whole day and I just can't do it.
The ATC tells me the FL and heading so I turn off the LOC button on the AFS and follow the heading of the ATC. I leave the LS and V V button turned on and turn the ND mode to LS. After the ATC tells me the runway I type the ILS frequency into the NAV1 section and activate it. I also activate the ILS course by turning the knob beside the ADI. On the ND mode LS the tuned frequency and NAVAID's name should be displayed top right and the guidance lines should be pink but that isn't the case. The guidance lines appears to be blue and I really don't know when to activate the APPR button

The localizer is always blue on our gauge I think. Do you see the glideslope indicator? If not, pressing the LS or VV button should make it appear. If you see the glideslope then you are configured correctly.

There is a bug that makes the APPR button very difficult to press. Try pressing the side of the switch as opposed to the front of it. You'll know you pressed the switch correctly if it moves and/or the green light illuminates when you press it.

No I don't see the glideslope indicator. The ATC gives me the final FL, in this case 5000ft, which I am supposed to hold until established on the localizer, and the heading. so I fly towards the airport at 5000ft with a heading of 55 and the ILS course is 82 for an 08R runway but there is no glideslope indicator and I don't know when to activate APPR. Then when I think it's the right time, the plane crashes some miles before the airport

Maybe some1 could explain to me step by step what exactly I have to do to make the glideslope indicator visible, although I think I did everything right :(
