Ok so I'm new and love Airbus Industries and heard that this was a really good place to get models. So knowing this I looked all over and how in the world can I actually get a model?

Firstly, welcome to the PA forums Michael. The downloads can be found at the top of the Board Index page under "Downloads". There you will find the A318, A319 and A320 models with various repaints and miscellaneous. Good luck and see you soon.

Yes i see all of that but when I go to download a model its a .mdl and I dont quite think I know what to do with a .mdl lol

There are several downloads on avsim that have the model included. Or you make a folder called model and throw the mdl and model.cfg file included in the download in there.

Its been a while, but I believe they are in the zip file downloads up top.
