A320 Beacon
Hey I have the following question: Why is the beacon light of the new A320 sort of going on and off instead of flashing, without any reflection on the wings and the engines at night ?
On the A319 and 321 it works as it should ( flashing beacon ) !
Anyone knows how to fix it ? It worked on the previous A320 model ( without wingflex) , so I dont think it should be a problem ??

Re: A320 Beacon
No one ? Seems to be a model issue since changing anything in the aircraft cfg doesnt change anything...
Re: A320 Beacon
The beacon is built into the model with the A320.
Re: A320 Beacon
Hm ok so why didn't you do it like you did with the A319/321 ?

Re: A320 Beacon
Because the new A320 has synchronised beacon/strobe flashing. This is only possible with hard-coded lights unfortunately.
Re: A320 Beacon
Ok..too bad :? Thanks for the information anyway!
Re: A320 Beacon
Is it possible to make the strobe light brighter by adapting a texture?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: A320 Beacon
Sure! If you find the correct texture, you can increase the brightness by making your own texture, applying a glow effect (after a bunch of format conversions), or by increasing RGB values in the actual effect file.cervino wrote:Is it possible to make the strobe light brighter by adapting a texture?

Re: A320 Beacon
But which is the correct texture for PA320 V2.1? As far as I know due to the wingflex the wing lights are not usual effects.

Re: A320 Beacon
I believe it's halo.bmp, which can be found in the fs9/texture folder if I recall correctly.

Re: A320 Beacon
That texture controls the overall look of ALL FSX/FS9 lights. Modifying that would affect every single light involved. I have messed with it, and I can tell you that it is a pain to deal with--getting the right balance is almost impossible. For the strobes for the effect files in the FSX/Effects folder are called "fx_strobe320pa.fx" and "fx_strobe2320pa.fx". You can open them as text files (just choose "Open with"-->notepad/wordpad). From there, you can edit the parameters. It is not too difficult to understand, and looking up the FSX SDK writeup on effects will be helpful if you are really really lost. The textures referenced by the effects can be seen within the FX files (just search a bit, there is a texture name parameter). The textures can be found in the FSX/Effects/texture folder.Derek Mayer wrote:I believe it's halo.bmp, which can be found in the fs9/texture folder if I recall correctly.
