vasFMC / A320 / N1 issue [FS9]

Post by capt.sigi » 25 Sep 2012, 11:53

Hi all,

I installed the A320 base package and vasFMC flightsim gauge in FS9.

Panel and screens look fine. vasFMC starts up, and I confirm "a320 project airbus.cfg" as configuration.

As soon as I turn on "A/THR mode" = "vasfmc" in vasFMC settings page on ground,
my engines spool up until ~50% N1, and I cannot idle them back.

CLB / FLX-MCT / TOGA throttle detents work fine, and a normal flight is possible.
When it comes to landing, I have to turn off 1 engine so as to maintain approach speed.

Does anybody know why vasFMC thinks my idle N1 is that high?

Cheers,
Sigi

Hallo!

In case you didn't already find out from another source: There is a problem with interaction of vasFMC with the newest version of FSUIPC. In order to solve it (actually it's a workaround) open your fsuipc.ini, find the entry AxesWrongRange and change its value to yes.

Unfortunately this didn't change anything.

What I noticed:
Idle thrust N1 changes slightly when I change the FLX TO temperature on the PERF page,
but it's still around 50%...

Greetings,
I have been having the same issue. Using the PA A320 V2.1, I had been flying the vasFMC tutorial by the book and moved on to doing a few short flights (KPHL-KBOS, KPHL-KDCA). I start the engines after programming the MCDU and preflight, and they immediately spool up (certainly not IDLE THRUST). I could not sort it out, so I used the following technique as a "workaround" while on the ground at my departure airport ;
1) Go to the MCDU MENU page,
2) Select SETTINGS key (should be RLSK1),
3) Select NO for the AIRBUS A/THR key (should be RLSK4).

You should now have full control of the throttle via your joystick/yoke input until you set the AIRBUS A/THR key back to YES. Once I roll onto the departure runway, after turning on the Landing Lights, I then set the AIRBUS A/THR key back to YES and set the throttle to the proper position for takeoff.
Seems the same problem does not affect the plane after landing; it stays at IDLE THRUST and I have control of the throttle via joystick/yoke input.

Not official by any stretch, but beyond this everything else works for me with vasFMC. This is a great addon to an already spectacular aircraft (PA Airbus family).

Best of Luck,
Jeffrey S. Bryner

Are you both sure you correctly edited the AxesWrongRange entry inside the fsuipc.ini and set its value to yes (AxesWrongRange=yes)? You both are describing exactly the problem I and others encountered and which is documentated by FSUIPC author Pete Dowson.

Well, someone once said, repetition penetrates even the dullest of minds (even mine sometimes)....I made the change in FSUIPC.ini and Case Closed. ;)
Thank you and accept my apologies for not checking my setting before posting.
