The overweighted A380 needs to go to the weight watchers.

Post by uranus » 26 Dec 2012, 12:08

Hi Simmers,

I have done lots of FDE's and specially for the payware planes ad PMDG; Overland and so on but I have tested as well at first in the Opensky Boeing 747-400 and the B747-8I and F and the PA A380. Good planes for FDE specialists. Further I am a commercial pilot as well and I know also in the practice of life the A380 pretty well and also by using the the real flight simulator of that plane.

This PA A380 is the far best freeware plane of all the freeware and also payware planes that I have seen so far. I really love this plane. Although the fact that I was sitting with a not well with the payload and the weight of the plane. Now look at the package of the FSX ...the box I am talking about. What does it stay? Does there stay:"As real as it is" or "As real as it gets"? Well there stays: "As real as it gets". Now that is what it is. That meas that we ca work of the character way of flying in stead of being precisely put all the amounts for what it is to make it in tune with the FSX and how it flies good in the FSX. So that can be another number than it is in real life. Now I was going with the philosophy of the makers of the FSX and we see that we need to do a little restoration. Not much though, just a little.

Well an A380 looks like a chubby whale, but he flies very gently and light. The opposite is going on with the Boeing 747's. Now what did I do.

[reference speeds]
flaps_up_stall_speed = 130.00
full_flaps_stall_speed = 115.00
cruise_speed = 587.00
max_mach = 0.92
max_indicated_speed = 385.00

[weight_and_balance]
empty_weight = 445014.00 //622500.00
max_gross_weight = 1254429.00 //1124400.00

when we substract 622500.00 from 445014.00 is an overweight of 177.486.00 lbs.

With the speeds that I have changed as well we get the next conclusion:

1. You get now the characteristics of the A380-800 coming up which we see as well in real life.
2. I have flown with this new weight and it flies incredible good.
Speeds 540 mph and that by a FL 400. The distance that he can fly is equal to reality and thats good. The speed is is good and all the turns of the plane are just like it is in reality.

This way of doing is equal to paint a Boeing 737-800 from Opensky or a PA A320. They look like the real A320-200 or B737-800, but the shape of the model is some different and there you need to adjust with. This is exact the same.

Please give it a try out and respond to me please.

empty_weight must be empty_gross_weight. Sorry for this. regards, Jan.
