Airbus A319LR

Post by Lrusso »

If I add the auxiliary fuel tanks to an A319 will it give me the range of an A319LR? Or would changes to the FDE be required?

If all you want is the increased range, then adding the fuel tanks should do it. If you're looking to make it as realistic as possible, you could also increase the static thrust. Standard A319s have between 22,000 and 23,500 lbf per engine, whereas the A319LR has 27,000 lbf per engine I believe.

^^ that my friend is one of the biggest challenges to overcome. Data like that is very hard to come by. You're best bet is generic data from airbus or some other technical writeups on the net. Otherwise customer specific capacities etc are not revealed

Thanks for the assistance!

Does anyone happen to know if the maximum takeoff weight remains the same on the LR?

Thank you for the help! I think I got it about right.

I did a flight with 48 passengers aboard and she flew about 5,500 NM before running out of fuel pretty close to the specs.

If anyone else wants to do this (probably not with the fantastic A380 coming out) these are the fuel settings I used

Code: Select all

[fuel]
Center1=   1.95,   0.0, -4.00, 6613.0, 8.0

LeftMain=  2.35, -19.6,  1.40, 1829.6, 5.0   //3.45
RightMain= 2.35,  19.6,  1.40, 1829.6, 5.0   //3.45

LeftAux=  -5.50, -36.4,  2.20,  232.5, 5.0
RightAux= -5.50,  36.4,  2.20,  232.5, 5.0

This is the setup i am envisioning Image
expect with IFE sets.

Thanks for the help it seems to be running fine! On my flight back to KJFK from LFPG!

Only one problem that I hope someone could help me with!

At low alt, like below the flight levels (18,000 FT) its like the auto throttle does not want to push the aircraft she'll reach 220 KNOTS and the autothrottle wont push the N1 higher when theres plenty of range left forward if I manually accelerate to 250 and then lock in the autothrottle it will hold that speed.

have worked & been on them but never flown on them

edit: I have the data you need for the weights & tank capacities etc but im afraid i wont be able to share them

Trade Secrets!

That's alright I understand.

It seems Airbus can configure them within a certain limit as the carrier wants them. Skytraders has one that will fly around 6500 NM with 40 passengers and 4 tons of cargo.

I have my configured up with 48 passengers and then enough fuel to take me up to MTOW.

Last night just set the autopilot to a way-point in the pacific and let her cruise at .78 FL370 and she went 5300 NM with a 45 minute reserve, 5400 until the engines spooled down. (total flight time was about 13 hours)

Pretty happy with those specs, I think the privateair one is capable of flying 4500 NM is this correct? (thats what i've seen on Airbus press releases)

I just wish i could get the auto-throttle worked out but thats not all that big of a deal.
