Overweight A380?

Post by flyawayboy777 »

Hi all! I am having an issue with the A380 being very overweight!!! I understand that the numbers are acurate to the real aircraft but here is my concern: I am flying Korean Airline A380 routes with PA 380. When I takeoff from LAX and stable the aircraft at FL330 the engines are working at about 77 N1. When I start the climb to FL380 or FL400 (standard cruise altitude for this route), the plane climbs at about 200VS. That is well and good. Now the bad part. When it finally reaches FL380 or above, the N1 is recording almost 95 on all engines!! The aircraft is tipped up to a 10 degree nose up and the plane is really struggling to stay alive! Then after a short minute it disconnects autopilot due to stress on the airframe! Is this an overweight problem? How can I fix it? Thanks in advance!! :)

You'd have to be almost empty to climb an A380 to above FL380. This is true both in real life and in our version.

This flight runs pretty full when it goes. On one of the days it hit FL380. Max I saw it go was FL400!

It looks like it climbs to FL360 initially and to FL380 4 hours into the flight.

Here you have maximum weight for differents Flight Level, with the Fuel Flow per NM.

you have to step climb the A380 regardless. If you dont your gonna fail hardcore. CTPs experience has taught me Fl330 when entering NAT track and then slowing taking up higher ALT if possible.
