vasFMC + a380 black panels

Post by orangecarbon »

I am having an issue with the vasFMC and a380 in FSX. I have once been successful at getting the panels to work, but now when i load up the plane, the PFD, ND, ECAM, etc are all black. If i load up the standalone launcher then the instruments work fine.

Hope i can get some answers

Did you do this after a format?

I have reformatted my computer but it has been at least 4-5 months since I have reformatted. I downloaded the a380 fresh a few days ago.

These are my steps:

1) Create a folder named panel.vas in the 380 aircraft folder
2) Copy the contents of the folder vasfmc_panel_a320, which is supposed to be found in a folder named 'aircraft' in the default fsx folder
3) Paste the contents in the panel.vas folder you created earlier
4) Download the navdata airac from this website
5) Copy the navdata airac contents into the navdata subfolder, which is found in the vas folder in the main FSX folder
6) Enable all permissions by right clicking fsx main folder, select properties, go to security tab, press edit and select full control for the groups which are available.

Hope this helps, please report back.

Regards,

Gary

I'd assume that's the same situation with the 2D panel, right?

Even our gauges are missing so the panel's probably not aliased properly

Hello,

I found a solution. I go to "Views" (Sichten)"MainPanel" (Instrumentenbrett) I klick on "dummy". Then my Displays show up.

I do realize this is an old post, but I'd just like to know where this "dummy" button you speak of is on the panel, having the same trouble... :/

Hello ryan55510,
a little late I saw your post. In the above picture you see in very small letters VIEWS.Klick on that and point with the mouse on PANEL. There you should see GLOBAL ON, dummy, PRIMARY FLIGHT DISPLAY etc. Enjoy flying.
