PA A380 texture issues

Hi,

I'm having an issue I hope someone can help with;

I'm using the PA A380 VC model in FSX and almost every flight I make I lose wing and virtual cockpit textures during flight.

I have various liveries for the A380 and this is a problem with every livery and VC I use.

At a random point during a flight either one or both of the wings and often parts of the VC will lose their texture leaving a blank white texture where it once was.

Here are some examples of the wing issue:

I haven't got any screen shots of the VC issue but it is pretty much the same thing with random parts of the VC losing it's texture and turning white.

I'm using DX10 with the DX10 fixer's legacy setting set to aircraft. This setting has fixed other texture related issues I have had with this aircraft, but I can't seem to fix this one and 9 times out of 10 when it happens FSX will crash shortly after the textures disappear. I'm not sure if the cause even is DX10 related.

Can anyone advise if this is a known issue and if there is a fix available?

Thanks

Update: I disabled DX10 Preview and deleted my fsx.cfg file and set up again from scratch hoping this would resolve the issue.

Around an hour in to a flight after doing so the cockpit and left wing textures have disappeared again.

So that rules out DX10 as a possible cause.

My Nvidia Inspector settings are as follows, not sure if anything in here is confusing it?

Slow hard drive? bad video card drivery? Out of memory?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm using an SSD and I tried both updating/reinstalling/rolling back graphics drivers which didn't make any difference.

I suspected that it was running out of Memory so to test it I knocked all my FSX display settings right down and did a test flight and the textures were still disappearing, but I think considering FSX crashes shortly after the textures begin to disappear you're probably right.

The strange thing is that it was working perfectly fine for the first couple of months of using it, and without any changes being made it just started doing this so I'm confused as to why the aircraft suddenly has started consuming more memory. Very odd!

Have you checked other drivers? Or models?

I think I've managed to fix it.

One thing I didn't do after switching to DX9 from DX10 was copy the original downloaded textures and effects files to the FSX directory and let them overwrite. I'm guessing that my DX10 fixer modified the textures in some way and possibly caused some sort of corruption.

So basically if any other DX10 users are reading this and have the same issue - switch to DX9 then make sure you reinstall the aircraft afterwards, seems to have worked for me.

Thanks

Good to know.
