Problem with A380 Engines

Post by lambchop95 »

I have been flying the new and excellent A380 from PA. However, I have discovered that when I try to land, the plane will not reduce engine power even when I have already put the throttle down to zero. I have no problems with engine control during taxi, takeoff and inflight, but only in landing.

I usually fly the airplane in FS9 with 16x speed, autopilot, and using the default 747-400 panel.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem or what procedure is supposed to be used in order to control the aircraft?

Thanks for your help.

Riiiiight.

This might sound weird but do you disengage the a/t too or not?

What springs to mind is maybe a hanging throttle on the joystick :o
Lambchop95, did you try doing "F1" on the keyboard?

I had this happen today too....While flying on VATSIM from Dubai to Toronto, my engines suddenly went up to full throttle.this could have been because i bumped my joystick..but the point I couldnt make them go back down, even after unplugging and plugging in the joystick, and pressing F1

I fixed it by shutting off the engines and turning them back on, but had to get back up to my FL afterwords

I run FSX

hmm, i thinks this problem is just happening in FSX... in FS2004 the A380 works perfect, and i fly it without panel, just VFR and the GPS window ^^ (waiting for the VC)
but if it happens, that when you put up the throtle from 0 to 100 (full power) and can't reduce it, then just put it first to 20 or so and then to 100, this may remove the problem, if not... try to remove the 747 panel and trie it without, when it still stucking at 100 then i have no idea ^^

I found a fix for this problem.

dont use 100% power, use something like 95,96,97 or 98% and then you will be able to control the throttle anytime during flight, hope this help, it work for me.

I have noticed that if you enable the fly-by-wire function in the aircraft.cfg, then the throttles react very slowly. Maybe the auto-throttle must be switched off?
