Problem with A318/19/20 wing lights

at the moment, I'm updating all my repaints to bring them on the same level of quality. While I'm doing that I've noticed again a little issue. It's about the A319_wing_1_l.bmp and A319_wing_2_l.bmp though these two files are in the correct format (32-bit with DxtBmp) they seem to have no influence ingame in the night time.

I've noticed that both bitmaps A319_wing_1_t and A319_wing_2_t are 1024x1024 and both "night textures" are only 512x512. Has this something to do with it? My target was to make some kind of light reflection on both wings from the cabin windows. But I can't do this without fixing this problem first. I had the same problem with all "A320-family" buses.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

alright, this is the A319_wing_1_l.bmp I'm currently using. I've also attached the alpha channel, that is applied to this texture. Deleting the alpha channel or rescaling the A319_wing_1_l.bmp to 1024x1024 makes no different. I got no more ideas :x

Image size can be halved/doubled from 4 to 1024 px, should make no difference (other than degrade the textures)

Checked it in FS9 (you are using FS9, right?) and it works fine. Guessing you're just not applying the alpha properly; use batch conversion to save time, effort and sweat

I'm using FSX, I forgot to tell this :lol: Maybe it has something to do with that. And I used the night texture that comes from the original Project Airbus Paint Kit. Has it something to do with the file format? Is a 32-bit version ok for this night texture or better DXT3?

thanks for the hint. ;) I know it was often say, that there is no return to the A318/319/320 in terms of updates, etc. but is there a way to put these textures on for the fsx models? or is there a special reason for not using them in FSX?

Uum, I don't really remember. Nightmaps in FSX don't work the same way they do in FS9 and could cause problems at times; might be something to do with that. And no, I don't think we'll be updating them
