How to ILS Approach with PA A380?[FIXED]

Post by easyjet12 »

Hi! I use the A380. Now when im trying to make ILS Approach, i put all things to radio and set course to right. When near the airport, i press approach button and it should make approach. Then my aircraft stalls and i have to land manually what is hard for me. How to approach with this plane? Thx for help if someone helps me. :( I dont know what im doing wrong because this works in A319 but with A380 i cant do it.

You have to make sure your not too low when you set APP on, or else the Aircraft will climb to the glide slope at too steep an angle and stall.
I usually approach and have Intercepted the localizer and start decent down the glide slope at roughly 3500 - 5000ft maintaining roughly 180kts down to 1000ft and slowing to 155kts - 165kts from there.

I always set the localizer first, as I near the airport at about 5,000 ft. When I'm lined up and the glideslope needle becomes active and starts moving, I switch on the approach switch. The aircraft descends with the glideslope and at about 100 feet I turn off the autopilot, at 50 feet I retard throttles and flare for a smooth touchdown.

P.S. I'm no real world pilot... yet 8-)

Im was in 2400 ft when i activated Approach button. I think that aircraft tried to climb, because it pitched up to 20 degrees! And how i can know do i am overweight or not? I just select a aircraft from menu and go flying.
Edit: And in A319 2400 ft is good altitude for it, but why it is not for A380?

Problem fixed! Problem was overweight. I taked all fuel things to 40 and payload smaller too. Now my A380 lands very good!

And there is picture of my A380 landing when it is not overweight! Very big thanks for AirNewZealand_A320 because he tell it is important to check it is not overweight or not! Thanks for letting me know!
And one question too: Is full flaps correct in landing?
