A32x in FSX: IAS and ALT gauges not working

Post by StijnDP » 03 Feb 2011, 21:30

Hi all,

I use the A318,319 and 320 in FSX. In neither of these aircraft, the IAS and ALT gauges are working. Can this be corrected?

Thanks,

Stijn

They seem to work fine for me - what panel are you using? Is is the Default FSX A321 panel or a custom 3rd party one?

The problem is in the aircraft.cfg. I think there is some kind of line that says [standby.altimeter] or similar. the value is 0 and change to 1.

Not a very accurate explanation, but to tell you the problem is not with the panel.

Thanks for your replies.

I pasted the panel.cfg file at the bottom of my reply. I think it is based on the default A321. Marco Fischbach did our repaint.

I checked the aircraft.cfg file and there is no reference to an atlimeter or IAS. Perhaps I should add such a reference? The panel.cfg file, which is based on the default A321 panel, contains the following altimeter and IAS lines:

Code: Select all

(...)
[Window00]
file_1024=airbus_a321_panel_background.bmp
file_1024_night=airbus_a321_panel_background_night.bmp
size_mm=1024
position=7
visible=1
ident=MAIN_PANEL

gauge00=Airbus_A321!altimeter_backup,     		676,505
(...)
gauge05=Airbus_A321!ias_backup,           		581,506

The VC also has a line on the altimeter and the IAS:

(...)
[VCockpit01]
size_mm=1024,1024
pixel_size=1024,1024
texture=$A321_1
background_color=0,0,0

gauge08=Airbus_A321!altimeter_backup,			91,940,79,80

Code: Select all

[airspeed_indicators]
airspeed_indicator.0=1
airspeed_indicator.1=1

[attitude_indicators]
//Type: 0=None, 1=Vacuum Gyro, 2=Electric Gyro
attitude_indicator.0 = 2
attitude_indicator.1 = 2

[altimeters]
altimeter.0=1
altimeter.1=1
Think adding this to you aircraft.cfg will solve your problem.

Re: A32x in FSX: IAS and ALT gauges not working

I'd like to thank GaryG also for this addition to the A32X aircraft cfg. Have been looking for this for a while.

Also, for those interested, this also works for Tom Ruths A33X, 34X and the Project Airbus A380 with the FSX model using Tom's A330 Panel. I now have all the Airbus backup guages working.

Thanks again.
