Need help with A380 Paintkit..

HI, I'm creating my first paintkit for FSX..
I downloaded the official paintkit and finished (re)painting the aircraft in Photoshop

I have a Singapore Airlines A380, which I duplicated for my new plane
I edited the aircraft.cfg to add a new name, airline, etc. and the new plane shows up in FSX

I then saved my textures from Photoshop in the new airplane's texture folder as 32 bit BMPs..

Problem is the plane shows up as made up of chrome (at normal zoom level)!!
When I zoom in slightly, the my paint-job appears, but the chrome takes over again when I zoom out
This occurs in both the aircraft preview and the simulator itself.

I then tried to save my BMPs in 8 bit format. In Photoshop I converted to indexed color (256 colours , not forced) and saved as 8 BIT BMP
Now, instead of chrome, the aircraft appears completely white (white as in no texture at normal zoom level, but as before my paint-job appears when I zoom in)

IN BOTH The cases, the original singapore airlines tail which I have still not replaced, appears correctly all the time
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

What is the correct way to save a texture for FSX?

Download DXTBmp and convert to 32bit....using it...remember to exclude mipmaps..or textures would be blurry..

I also have a question about the a380 paintkit.

When I'm opening the Tail layer for painting it, I see that the Tail Layer isn't rounded in the upper corner of the tailfin, if you understand what I mean. I've looked at other textures and there the tail is rounded. So anybody know how I can fix that?

Click on the wireframe at the top, in the layers tab and you will see the outline of the tailfin as it appears in the sim.
