Project Airbus – Talk

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to this forum and I am very satisfied and happy with the PA A380, it's my favorite freeware aircraft for FSX.
I am curently working on a Lufthansa repaint and I do have some problems, as I am new to painting and it's my first repaint.
I want to make the orange logo blue, but the result does not look good if I use the fill tool. I was trying to play with the sensitivity and some sliders but the result was still the same and not good. Can someone tell me how to fill the yellow logo, so it looks like the oroginal one but just in blue ?

Paste the logo in another layer and set that layer modus to multiply.

ok, this didn't solve my problem, because when I overpaint it, I just paint over the yellow colour and get a false blue colour as result...

Play with the hue-saturation sliders. I don't know where to find them on GIMP, and I honestly don't want to download and install it right now. If you took the logo from a svg file, it might be easier to repaint it with a program such as inkscape, then convert it to raster and paste it.

Tail looks good so far. Please use the paintkit though and not my textures as a base.

I'm not using you textures, I'm using the official paintkit, as you can see.
I'm only using you "rest" of the paint, because I haven't painted any other part of the plane yet.

That's what he means, don't use his textures to show off parts of your work. Use the paintkit textures (all white) to do it.

Nice work so far. The grey looks a little dark I'd say, and needs just a hint of blue.

ok, I lightened up the grey a little bit, but I'm still not happy with it. Thre are still sveral little things to "fix" and adjust.

Are you able to paint the antennas? Iam not sure about it in the A380 paint kit. If you can you should paint the first underbelly antenna (sorry i don't know the name or function of it ) red as LH has it on the A380. I know its only a very small detail but i noticed it while i compared it to pictures of the real one. Looking good so far.

I tried some paints on the A380 tail and I've some problems.

I edited it with DXTBmp into 32bit and when i go into the fs the texture is unsharp. What did i do wrong?

you propably forgot to uncheck the "mip map" checkbox in dxtbmp

Yes, you're right. Thanks for helping. I hadn't thought that just a little tick makes a repaint so unsharp.

Hey Guys,

last weekend I was a bit bored so I also started to paint a lufthansa. Now I need your help. I haven't the experience to make a professional paint but I think its a good begin.

Does anyone know what's the official font of the Lufthansa registration.

"Helvetica New" - it's payware.

But "Nimbus Sans L" looks similar and should be just right.
