A321 released!

Post by esg »

Greetings all,

We're happy to announce that the Project Airbus Airbus A321 has now been released!

The model was originally made by Andy Warden, and has received modifications by Derek Mayer over time; these—amongst others—include:

- improved wingflex code with input from several new parameters including ground spoilers, fuel load, and angle of attack
- improved dynamic shine
- improved wing parts
- new antenna hiding method
- modelled engine innards, fan semi-transparent at high rpm
- custom fan animations (including fan windmilling)
- double strobes
- improved control surface droop w/engines off
- custom nose wheel steering code
- rudder influenced by wind during surface droop

The FSX models were exported by Thomas Ruth.

The A321 is being distributed via a single base package and individual livery packages. Detailed installation instructions can be found in the Readme text that comes with every download.

One small note regarding the livery installer tool: The Readme neglects to mention that you may install more than one livery at once. Simply unzip all the paints you downloaded into your aircraft folder and run the tool once afterwards (it will install however many paints it detects in the folder). Don't forget both engine variants have their own livery tool.

The paint kit will be released in a few days time.

We'll update this thread with download links as they become available.

On behalf of the entire team, thank you for your continued support and feedback!

- The PA team

This may sound really dense, but, are the repaints being uploaded one by one throughout today? I can't seem to find the Monarch paint anywhere. Cheers. :)

All of mine have been uploaded but AVSIM's taking their time publishing the files. Links will be posted up top once they're out.

Is there actually a way to open the door 2L (before the left wing)?

How am i supposed to install this? I have no idea where to place the folder and use the bat?

Can someone offer complete step by step instructions on how to do this as the ones in the readme are rubbish.

EDIT: Nevermind, i did it the old fashioned way.

No, that door doesn't seem to be animated.

I thought so but i kept getting error everytime i ran the batch, it just kept flickering. So therefore i thought it was wrong. However i tried multiple combinations still no luck.

OK i have a problem:
I installed the textures manualy without the bat.
The AC livery is ok, but the my wheels are black. There is a folder called texture.I copied the A321_misc_2 in my Air Canada folder and now the tail and engines are shiny silver!
I'm using FSX Acc. :?:

The bat also copies common textures from the main texture folder into your paint's folder. If you didn't run the batch you'll have to copy those textures manually. You'll also need to copy some light map textures as well, basically just copy all the textures from the texture folder into your paint's folder.

Wow!! Awesome news since a few weeks I checked the forum. Congratulations for this amazing job!
And only a question… Will be released a Spanair livery by chance?? It would be fantastic.

Thanks again for your great job!

I am having the same problem that fsxfan is having. Now I saw what Derek wrote but I am having a hard time understanding what he explained to fsxfan. Could you please re explain what you meant. Step-by-Step please. Forgive my ignorance. Thank you.

well done guys, superb work. released in very clean file directories and really easy to install. Thanks you to the whole team involved with the modelling and flight dynamics. Thankyou to Paibus for keeping us posted on this project and finally... thankyou to all the painters which have taken their time to make their paints as real as they can be... or atleast the AC livery is, only seen previews of the rest so far but im sure they are done to the same standard

This has made me a very happy person despite the horrible day at work I have just had

Hi,

First, I would like to thank you for this great aircraft. Is there any chance that you are doing a SWISS livery as well? They are operating 7 A321 and unfortunately it's missing in your list.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Daniel

Great job guys, a REALLY excellent model. The FDE seems good as well. About 4,000lbs shy of MTOW, she was hard to taxi, and took forever on the rollout from CYYZ. An extra slice of raisin pie for all!!!
