The A320 V2.1

Post by Derek Mayer »

Good afternoon all,

Yesterday we started on something long overdue, the A320 V2.1. Essentially, this will be a re-release of our A320. The models will be updated with all of the features of our recent A321 release, and most (if not all) of the original release liveries will be repackaged using the base pack/livery pack method. The official textures will have a couple of minor parts added to them, but existing repaints for the original model will still look fine for the most part.

An FSX version is not confirmed for the moment.

The models have been updated as follows:
  • Applied custom engine fan animations. Added windmilling.
  • Applied the custom tailhook animation so the cargo doors open slower.
  • Changed the exit assignments to the A321 config.
  • Applied the new antenna hiding method.
  • Fixed a smoothing issue near the cockpit windows.
  • Improved the specular shine.
  • Added wingflex.
  • Added a missing antenna just ahead of the v-stab.
  • Replaced the CFM and IAE engines with the improved A321 versions.
  • Replaced the flap fairings with the more accurate A321 versions.
  • Added hardcoded doublestrobes.
  • Applied the new surface droop code.
  • Updated the pilot models in the cockpit.
  • Tweaked the APU shape at the rear.
  • Applied the custom nose gear steering code.
  • Added windshield wiper objects (unanimated).
  • Removed the jetheat effect entirely.

And some screenshots for good measure:

hey is the existing textures for the A318,19 and 20 will fit? or we will have to do minor adjustments? like you said you've reworked the nose and engines and added some stuffs to the paintkit.

Just wondering :)

P.S: Is this gonna be only A320?

Minor adjustments. More info on that later

We'll only be updating the A320 if that was unclear

They all (bar A320-100) have wing fences - nickthessaloniki is referring to these:

it's actually very different... the sharklets are not at all like the wingtip fence currently in use in all A320 family aircrafts.... just look at them:

and the new sharklet model: http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-p ... 033162.jpg

Why not, over several time the A32X have sharklets all over de world. A320 fs makers have sharklets and PA... doesn't.

Great news guys! And thanks for your hard work on the A32x family! Quick question (which may have been answered in the opening post, not sure): once the base packages are released, will older liveries (not officially released by PA) be compatible with the new model?

*Edit: I just re-read the original post, and question was answered. Cheers!

"Currently", that's from 2006
http://www.airliners.net/photo/JetBlue- ... 3be336be41

And nowadays that aircraft looks like this:

Personally I would love to see A32x with sharklets from PA but not until we can see the real one, A320NEO has new engines too, not just sharklets. Those pictures of A320 equipped with winglets were just some test flights.

i would sooner want to see the Double Bogied A320 than the "Sharklet" model but since theres only Indian Airlines with the double bogey and no Sharklets i doubt either will happen...which in all honesty doesnt bother me, cant you guys just be happy with whats coming?

I did not say I wasn't happy with what has been previewed already, I was showing the sharklet being attached to an airline which made me think it was flying around now ... but I was wrong. personnally Im not too bothered if PA do it or not. I was simply posting my findings

Competition and pioneering is NOT PA's goal. Such comments won't affect any members. PA lacks that kind of competitive environment. We compare with our best not with other's best.
