Thomas Cook A321 near accident

Post by A321flyer » 09 Dec 2011, 03:12

Interesting news read today on the daily mail, on a flight from Manchester to Heraklion, a Thomas Cook A321 pilot underestimated the takeoff weight by 17 tons and was near fatal accident when they realised that the Airbus did not have enough thrust for takeoff, dont know whether this flight was from today or another time: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... speed.html

Thats why I read it for fun ;) But thanks for clarification, it seemed rather weird that "17 tons" would appear there, but this was all due to incorrect info on the MCDU.

Hello,

In the AAIB report it is mentioned "The sidestick control felt heavy", this statement doesn't bother anybody??

Cheers,

Alex
