Ok, I just got Adobe Photoshop CS6 installed on my computer and I have been playing around with it for a while.
So, does anyone have any idea how apply gradient shine on top of what you have painted. Basically I just want to add perhaps a bar of shine (gradient) on top of what I have painted. There is a primary color and a secondary color, how can I make the secondary color 100% transparent? Any painters out there who have been using Adobe Photoshop for a while can help me? I was using the freeware Paint.NET before I got this.

Here's a screenshot how to make 1 colour of the gradient tool transparent:
The Opacity Stop can be adjusted by changing the 100% to any opacity percentage you want.

Re: Adobe Photoshop CS6
Or you could just use the 2nd preset
