aileron deflection and vasfmc

Post by jensi76pa380 » 02 Jul 2012, 10:28

Dear community,

when I deflect the ailerons on my PA380 for approx. 50% or greater, the aircraft is rolling not smoothly.
I mean when I want to fly a turn, the bank angle does not increase smoothly. My bank angle "jerks".

If the ailreon deflection is less than approx. 50% this effect does not appear.

This affect is only visible with vasfmc. However, I do not want to fly without vasfmc.

I've already reduced the graphical options of FS9 to the minimum. I also use the wingview (no VC).

Can you please explain me the possible root causes - and their fixes?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Kind regards

Turn off FBW or bank angle protection or whatever it is they've called it

But I really would like to fly WITH Fly By Wire and Bank Angle Protection.

Is it just the low performance of my old PC?

No, it's likely just conflicting with the LAF XML

Thank you for your answer.
Please be so kind and tell me what the three letter acronym "LAF" means.
Thank you.

Please tell me what exactly this is.

Is this really needed for realistic simulation?

How can I deactivate this?

Thank a lot.

Thank you for this video.

I couldn't find the file "LAF.XML". I also couldn't find an option in the vasfmc MCDU that only switches off the bank angle protection.

The only workaround I've found is to reduce the sensitivity of my joystick aileron axle... not really satisfying...

The LAF is built into the model, unfortunately.

I can't remember off the top of my head what their FBW does exactly -- but I'm quite certain that there's a separate toggle for the autotrim.

So, I've looked into it a bit more, and I dont think it's got anything to do with the LAF. I'll let you know if we figure out a fix.

Dear esg,
did you already figure out a fix?
